The white MS7201QTRW Quarter-Turn Round Base Microphone Stand from On-Stage is a sturdy solution for holding and supporting your mic in music, public speaking and general performance applications. It is a round base stand that sets up with a threadless quarter-turn. The base features a J-slot and in one motion the user can push down and rotate the shaft 1/4-turn clockwise to lock it or, push down and rotate 1/4-turn counter-clockwise to remove. This saves users set up/tear down time.

The sturdy 10" round base is constructed from sand-cast steel. Six rubber feet on the underside keep the stand stable. The shaft features a scratch-resistant finish and a die-cast steel mid-point clutch to adjust the height from 34 to 60". Also included is a drawstring cloth sleeve to protect the stand shaft in storage and transport.

A: The On-Stage SB9600 Tripod Studio Boom Stand (B&H # ONSB9600) can accommodate the RODE VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone (B&H # ROVMNTG). Q: 9. I have read the two reviews of this item. It appears they the threading is of a very close tolerance. As far as I'm concerned that is a good attribute. My question concerns the locking mechanism itself; i.e., part A tolerance to part B. If you have already bought this and have had it in service for some while, I'm asking if the joint is solid and without any free play of tolerance. Yes, I have an Atlas MS20C. It would be much nicer to have a quick connect between the shaft and base because as we all know, it is typical to separate the two pieces during transport. Also, I'm know from experience that hasty and often assembly / disassembly of the base from the shaft invites the risk of stripping threads. On paper, this device looks very useful and I would definitely buy it if I only knew that it has a very solid fit between the halves with no wobble at all. Thank you very much.

A: Atlas as you well know makes excellent products. I cannot guarantee the QR-2 will not have some play to it. As the connection is not a thread its ball bearing.

Q: 10. I have a mic that has a circumference of about 4 1/2 inches. Will this fit?

A: This stand sports the standard 5/8" male connection, commonly found on all mic stands. If you have the mic mount for your mic, it will fit this stand perfectly. (The included mount is meant for tapered handheld mics such as the Shure SM58)
