Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. it is waterproof?

A: Seriously? You have to ask?

Q: 2. Hi, What do I need to get to attach a phone tripod or an iographer case to this monopod? cold show mount thingie? help! :-) Thanks

A: Click the link below to view phone mounts; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=cell%20phone%20mount&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma

Q: 3. Can feet and a quick release be added to this monopod or would it be cheaper to purchase a new monopod that has,a quick release and feet on it?

A: If you want feet its best to use a monopod that was designed with feet https://bhpho.to/2OxzwIG.

Q: 4. Is there a ball head for the monopod?

A: Removal of the top rubber cap, has a threaded stud for attaching a camera base. Uasd two of these as walking poles for a 5 week hike of the Camino de Santiago, French Route. They worked well and were compact enough to fit into my backpack for shipping.

Q: 5. Anyone knows if this tripod has removable 3/8 foot to allow for after-market video feet?

A: No, the bottom of this monopod is not threaded. The rubber foot is pressed into place.

Q: 6. Will it work with Nikon D3300 perfectly?

A: I have a D7100 and it works fine.

Q: 7. How is the 290 carbon fiber monopod different from the 294 carbon fiber monopod? Is this just a rebranding of the 294?

A: I dont know about the carbon, but I bought the alu one and in that case it is just a matter of rebranding. The weight difference is insignificant between alu & carbon in my opinion so I choose alu.

Q: 8. Does this monopod have a thread or screw in the base such as what would be needed to use one of the many three-foot base attachments out there?

A: It is threaded at the top and a rubber on the bottom. Hope this helps.

Q: 9. Can this Monopod be used as a walking stick as well?

A: No, it is not as rigid and excessive weight, it would bend.

Q: 10. How does the Manfrotto 234RC monopod head mate up to this monopod? It appears the mounting plate is as large in diameter as the 290 Xtra tripod.

A: It matches up perfectly. This is the combination I have and I've been very happy with it.

I got it in pink, because the last one was stolen. almost before my eyes. Its perfect size/handle/weight/price By the way, I use it for a GoPro selfie stick, but I have to hold it from the feet, which is fine. this is much stronger than GoPro sticks and 1/3 of the price. You can't go wrong with Manfrotto !!

I put my canon 7D on and it handled it. I felt secure with this monopod and it was light to carry and easily folds. So glad I purchased it.

This is a high-quality monopod, very sturdy and very easy to expand and collapse. Be sure to get the bushing that takes it from a 1/4-20 post to a 3/8-16 post.

Bought an affordable monopod to film basketball games. I have a iographer iPad case and connect it to the monopod. Simple setup that fits into my small backpack for rushing between games. I like that it's pink so it is easily recognizable. I guess if I like the price, and not the color, I'd wrap it, but the color isn't a priority for me. It is as good as my other Manfrotto gear.

I have a tripod for shooting many shots but this monopod is just what I need for fast shots when there isn't enough room for the tripod. I just love it. Quick set up and just as quick take down. Compact and fit very well in my back pack or strapped to the outside of my camera case! Good tool for a larger lense too.
