The black DB-RT2 Remote Control Selector from RDL is designed to turn on and off an audio or video source. Only one output terminal is needed for triggering, therefore a single shielded pair (3-conductor cable) is required for remote connection. For more complex switching networks, both outputs (ON and OFF) may be used. In an audio or video control installation, the DB-RT2 may be mounted adjacent to an RDL remote volume control.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. would this work for a rebel t5 camera

A: The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T5 DSLR camera does not have an infrared sensor built into the camera for use with the Canon RC-6 Infrared Remote. The only Canon remote release compatible for use with the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T5 DSLR camera would be the Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3, B&H# CARS60E3. If you need a wireless remote release for use with the Canon T5, I would instead recommend the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release (Canon Sub-Mini Connection), B&H # VERWC1, for your needs.https://bhpho.to/2bhYKH5

Q: 2. I need to record some video on my 70D using a prompter and remote. Is this the unit I should purchase?

A: Yes it will. Once you push to button towards your camera that's on a tripod it will take the picture or start your video if you are in the mode. I have an 80D Canon and it works fine with it and the 70D. Just make sure it's pointing at the camera and you can be several feet away, like 15 I think.

Q: 3. I can't make it work with the EOS utility tool on my laptop in the live view mode with the studio flashes on... Can u help me please?

A: I was having the same issues...

Q: 4. will this work with the canon rebel T100/EOS 300D?

A: This remote is not compatible with the Canon Rebel T100.

Q: 5. do i need a clear line of sight for the remote to work?

A: Yes, the remote must be pointing at the camera's sensor (on the FRONT of the camera, just right of the lens. As long as you are in front, and not too far off to the right side (where the lens may interfere), it triggers well.

Q: 6. I have the Canon Rebel T3 Camera. i recently ordered the RC-6 wireless remote for my camera. Is there a wireless remote setting on the Rebel T3 camera? I can not find that setting anywjere on my camera.

A: Unfortunately, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T3 DSLR camera does not have an infrared receiver built into the camera, and it is not compatible for use with the Canon RC-6 Wireless Remote Control. The only remotes that are compatible with the Canon EOS T3 would be ones that plug into the 2.5mm sub-miniphone remote terminal on the left-hand side of the camera, such as the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch, B&H # CARS60E3. If you are looking for a wireless remote that would be compatible for use with your camera, I would instead recommend the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release (Canon Sub-Mini Connection), B&H # VERWC1, which uses the 2.5mm sub-miniphone remote terminal.

Q: 7. Does this work for long exposures? On Bulb?

A: Yes it does. While in bulb mode on the camera: press once to start exposure, then press a second time to end it.

Q: 8. Can the battery holder be bought separately as a replacement part?

A: No, you can try getting it from Canon but buying a new one is your best option.

Q: 9. Can this remote start recording videos?

A: Yes it does. I use this remote to start and stop recording videos with my 5DM3 and 5DM4 when they are mounted on my DJI Ronin. Don't forget: in your camera settings, go to Drive Mode , then select Self-Timer:2sec/Remote

Q: 10. Does this work for Canon 5D (non Mark II or III) just a regular 5D?

A: yes
