Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this unit work with the Midas 32 live?

A: Yes. The Midas DL153 Stagebox is compatible with all Midas digital consoles and audio system engines, as well as with any other AES50-equipped devices.

Q: 2. Other retailers are now shipping this item with a USB/MADI combo card. Is this true at B&H as well?

A: We are shipping the Mini Stagebox 16 fitted with a single-cable Cat 5 MADI HD interface for connection to the host console using an approved Cat 5 cable (not included). If required, this MADI HD interface card can be upgraded (sold separately) to either redundant (dual-cable) Cat 5 or redundant (dual-fibre) optical fiber with the compatible MADI HD interface card.

Q: 3. What’s the difference with the mini stagebox 16i and the 16r ?

A: The 16i has a single built in MADI connection. The 16R allows for replaceable option cards to be used in the stagebox.

Q: 4. does this include the console maid card?

A: The Mini Stagebox 16 will ship with an Si series compatible MADI card. Vi series console cards are available separately.

Q: 5. To be sure, this can record from cd to sd card, sd card to sd card, and SD card to cd?

A: The Tascam SS-CDR250N Two-Channel Networking CD and Media Recorder has the ability to record to SD Cards, USB Flash Drives, and CD-R/CD-RW discs. These media options cannot be chosen as source options however - only destinations. Input sources for recording to these media options would be external and connect to the SS-CDR250N via its back panel.

Q: 6. So if I'm running a Pro2 at FOH and another Pro2 in MON, I'd need to buy 2 of these to get discrete attenuator control (master/master preamp control) for each console?

A: The DL431 features 3 sets of outputs. The two variable gain preamps are remote controllable from two separate locations, such as front of house and monitor positions. ( rear panel). The front panel is a transformer-isolated split and fixed gain.

Q: 7. Tascam SS-CDR250N Q&A Can you alter the pitch or tempo of the Cd and dub it to SD?

A: Sorry, not possible to aleter the pitch or tempo of a CD to be dubbed on a SD card.

Q: 8. Can you connect a Midas DL152 to DL151 to make a digital snake?

A: Unfortunately you cannot daisy chain the Midas DL15x series of I O boxes. The DL15x is intended to be directly connected to the Midas DL371 via the AES50 ports. The DL16 and DL32 IO boxes can be daisy-chained when used with the Midas M32 or Behringer X32 consoles. I have attached these various products for clarification purposes. All of which can be found on the B&H website.

Q: 9. it can be used with a presonus mixer?

A: The Presonus mixers do not send information over MADI like the Soundcraft Mini Stagebox. Some of them use AVB over Ethernet.

Q: 10. How does one adjust record level from analog inputs? Many Thanks

A: The recording levels from the analog input signal on the TASCAM SS-CDR250N Two-Channel Networking CD and Media Recorder can be adjusted by using the internal menus. You will be able to navigate the the Input Level screen, then select Mic Level or Line Level, and then manually adjust the levels. The information is shown in the user manual on page 58: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/1015747.pdf
