Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How thick is the padding? Can this be used for an airport check in?

A: Based on years of airline travel with camera and lighting equipment, we cannot recommend any bag for airline checked baggage. Please consider hard cases.

Q: 2. Can this charge while shooting?

A: No, the Godox AD300pro is not designed to be charged while shooting. Its only charging method is with the external battery charger included with the AD300pro.

Q: 3. Could the shoulder stripes for the backpack be removed or tugged away?

A: Yes, Think Tank Photo Essentials Convertible Rolling Backpack has a zip pocket on the back to storage the shoulder straps. If you open the images of this product, image number 5 on the left side show this feature.

Q: 4. How long will the battery last when running the modeling lamp run continuously?

A: The Godox AD300pro Outdoor Flash BH #GOAD300PRO can do 300 full power flashes with the modeling lamp off. The 35Wh battery would run the 12w modeling lamp just under 3 hours if you took no photos. Combine the two and you would get less run time and flashes.

I purchased the On-Stage SSB6500 Speaker Stand Bag for this purpose. But it has no wheels. (This is not a negative review of the
On-Stage SSB6500 Speaker Stand Bag) I needed a wheeled solution to moving stands and modifiers from location to location. (wait for it...here comes the physics). While the On-Stage bag was big on organization it was also high on friction. Reducing friction makes work easier. The integral of f dot DS from some number to zero or something like that.

Wheels did the trick.

They are quiet and so far durable. I have not experienced the tearing of straps or handles as some other reviewers. When laid out strategically, I can get a couple of light stands, a soft box or a couple of umbrellas and a few odds and ends to fit nicely. The wheels create ease of movement and less stress on joints that need no further injury.

The one negative that I have found is with the carry handles. The two part grip does not lock together very well. This creates a pinch point when lifting this way. The good news for me is I use the pull handle and roll the bag 95% of the time.

An added bonus.

Quite by accident I stacked the On-Stage SSB6500 Speaker Stand Bag on top of the Impact. The On-Stage looked as if it would fit inside the Impact. It does. So, the soft On-Stage was packed and put inside the semi rigid Impact for added protection for air travel. Works out great and the gear has an extra barrier of resistance to baggage handlers

Overall

I very pleased with this bag's performance. I think I will at some point break out a sail needle and thread to reinforce the carry handles. Impact should take note of the negative reviews and fix this issue.

Will buy another in the future.

We use this for my bands heavy lighting stands. We had another case for them, where we put two stand in the case. It was too heavy, so I bought two of these cases. So far they are amazing. I love the wheels that are flush mounted instead of external. A handle when on the side when wheeling or on top when carrying. I also like the two interior straps to hold everythingin place when transporting. Very good price point as well.
