Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How is the durability of this compared to an actual muslin?

A: Hi, All i can say is that i have been using it for 2 years and still looks great (even after multiple machine-wash).

Q: 2. I had asked the question: What is the approximate weight and package size of this material? and had two answers: One saying that it's about 2-3 pounds, and another saying that it's 6 pounds! So which one is closer to the real weight?

A: Ohan- It's lightweight, but this is a large background. It's just about 6 pounds. I have been very happy with mine. I've had it for about a year. Washed up great. It's stretchy, so you can clamp it and tape it to get a VERY wrinkle free background and even with less than perfect lighting, keys out nicely. You might also consider the larger 10x24. You can always tape it around and I've had moments I wished I had just a little wider footprint. Hope that helps.

Q: 3. Which side do you use? The fuzzy side or the smooth side?

A: The textured side is more commonly used.

Q: 4. how big is the pocket sleeve?

A: Big enough to fit a standard stand pole through

Q: 5. Is this material dense enough to block light from windows?

A: The fabric is a fairly open weave with the fleece projecting through. The more you stretch the fabric, the more the weave opens up. It will block most light, but there will be bleed-through, which you want in a backdrop so you can backlight it or gel it. For a window I would consider doubling it (if you get the long version) or teaming it with a so-called room darkening curtain, some of which can be had reasonably at places like WM.

Q: 6. Do yall still sell the other colors with this material?

A: The Savage Wrinkle-Resistant Polyester Background (Pink, 5x9') comes in 5 different colors, (Black, grey, pink, powder blue and white).

Q: 7. what is the weight?

A: The weight of this backdrop in its original packaging would be 7.4 lbs.

Q: 8. Is the fabric transparent?

A: If the background is set up in front of a very bright light source, like a window on a sunny day, you may see some transparency. If that happens to me on location, I simply meter the ambient light and select an aperture/shutter speed combination which will work. Since the main light is coming from strobes, it is rare to have contamination from an ambient light source.

Q: 9. This backdrop is a bit too wide. Do you offer a narrower one? Or can it be cut? Thank you!

A: Impact Background - 6 x 7' (White) B&H # IMBGW67 or Paper seamless B&H # SABGP861

Q: 10. Would this work on the manfrotto autopole system if I get the alu-core pole for vinyl and cloth backdrops?

A: Yes, The green screen has a built in pole pocket that would work with that manfrotto attachment. There are also grommets built in to the backdrop for an alternative hanging method.

This Wrinkle Resistant Cotton is the best. It is almost like a thin fleece Stretch it the tiniest bit and wrinkles just disappear! NO wrinkles = NO shadows so you get nice even lighting, and a great KEY!

Great green screen! I've been using 9' paper rolls for years, but no longer. It's wrinkle free with a couple spring clamps.

I had a stretchy green-screen made from well, I guess stretchy fabric. The Westcott simply doesn't have the hot spots you get with those types of screens. Lighting it is a breeze and the results are great - an even green color that you don't have to fight with to key out. Nice. Highly Recommended.

A little wrinkled around the edges but stretched out it was fine.
