The AKG WMS420 UHF Wireless Presenter System is designed for live sound reinforcement applications such as for public address, presentations, installations, and performances that require up to eight simultaneously operating systems over a 30 MHz bandwidth. This system consists of a PT420 Beltpack Wireless Microphone Transmitter, an SR420 UHF Stationary Wireless Receiver, two detachable RF antennas, an AC adapter for the receiver, a AA-size battery for the transmitter, and a C417 L clip-on microphone.

The UHF receiver features two detachable antennas that enable connection to a wide range of professional RF accessories such as antenna splitters and remote mounted directional antennas for use with multi-channel systems. The front panel of the receiver features an on/off button, a rotary volume control, a button for selecting one of the available eight carrier frequencies within the system's range, an LCD display that shows the selected receiving channel, an RF OK LED to indicate the presence of a signal, and a CLIP LED to indicate when the audio level is too high.

The back panel of the receiver features a squelch control knob that will automatically mute the audio output if the strength of the radio transmission frequency becomes too weak. The back panel also features a DC IN port with strain relief for connecting the AC adapter, a balanced XLR-3F output for connecting to a live mixer, and an unbalanced 1/4" output for connecting to an amplifier.

The beltpack wireless transmitter comes with a C417 L clip-on microphone, but will also work with any of AKG's line of MicroMics. The beltpack features a noiseless on/off/mute switch, a gain control knob, and an LED indicator light. The transmitter is powered by a single AA battery which provides between six and eight hours of operating time with a range of approximately 30 meters. The transmitter also includes charging contacts for use with rechargeable batteries and AKG's CU400 rechargeable base station (sold separately).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the hand-held use AA batteries?

A: Yes, the handheld wireless microphone/transmitter included with the Samson Expedition XP312w-K 12" 300W Portable PA System does use two AA batteries.

Q: 2. Does the 3.5mm output the two mics on two separate channels? If so, can a TRS 3.5mm to dual XLR do the same?

A: Yes, the dual-channel receiver in the Movo Photo WMX-20-DUO 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Lavalier Microphone System can separate each transmitter signal on it's stereo 3.5mm output. A 3.5mm TRS to dual XLR splitter cable would work well to split the receiver's output appropriately for connection to two XLR inputs.

Q: 3. Could the transmitter work as IFB transmitter with the mic input (meaning the mic in could be used in conjunction with inputs in the back)?

A: There is a line input on back ot transmitter which may be used: The stationary transmitter is equipped with three XLR-1/4" combo jacks, one 1/8" mic, and one 1/8" line input, so it can be used for both music and voice transmission

Q: 4. Do they make a cell phone cable?

A: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048152-REG/rode_sc7_trrs_iphone_cable_for.html?sts=pi&pim=Y You can order this cable for connection to smartphones and tablets.

Q: 5. Is the VocoPro SilentPA Practice transmitter the same as the VocoPro SilentPA Seminar transmitter?

A: Yes the products are the same. other than the quantity of transmitters; 10 on the Seminar, 4 on the Practice systems.

Q: 6. What' the sample rate?

A: The manufacturer has not included information regarding sample rate with the system's specs.

Q: 7. Can I use 2 of these systems on one camera and have 4 separate audio channels? If I plug one receiver in XLR 1 and the second receiver in XLR 2 can I separate all 4 channels of audio for 4 people in one camera?

A: Yes, you can use two WMX-20-DUO systems at the same time on the same camera, but you would have two audio tracks, not four. Each receiver outputs one signal with the combined audio from its two mics. Also, the camera only records two audio tracks, not four. If you do need to have four separate audio tracks, it would be best to use individual wireless systems for each person and capture the audio on a multi-track recorder. The audio and video can be synced in post production.

Q: 8. I have one of these units that has frequencies 907.7, 921.2, 912.8, 927.5 MHz. Can I add a second unit with your frequencies?

A: Yes, you can use the Nady DW-44-LT-HM Four-Channel UHF Wireless Microphone System with Four Lavalier Mics & Four HM-3 Headsets (Black, B1: 905.8 to 925.9 MHz) with another DW-44 system that operates on the 907.7, 921.2, 912.8, 927.5 MHz frequencies. As long as each system operates on different frequencies, there should not be any issues.

Q: 9. what is R&L in port used for?

A: The 3.5mm Right/Left input connection is used to connect and mix in an auxiliary audio source such as music from a device alongside the microphone signals on the Pyle Pro PDWM4120 UHF Wireless System with 4 Handheld Microphones & Receiver with Bluetooth.

Q: 10. with this mic work with my Canon EOS Rebel T4I which I know is cranky and will not work with every mic?

A: It will, and that little mic/line switch in the back in the important thing. Typically you would need to attenuate a line level to mic, but with this system you don't have to, just flip the switch to Mic.
