Sturdy, light weight & well constructed. Will easily hold a small flash with reflector or umbrella attachment. I'm also using it as part of my backdrop system (for small, 5 foot wide backdrops) and it works great.

I use this primarily for reflectors and it works great for me.

I choose this over the Manfrotto Nano only because of double maximun load and longer leg brace. It may be overkill just for a flash and umbrella, however, to me it seems more secure at the expense of just an extra 9'' inches closed length. It's still compact enough and worked great in the field so far. No regrets, once you get the hang of pulling the legs open with the right leverage, it's fast to set up.

I had a Bogen tripod before and it was very reliable and so I bought this Bogen stand for my strobist needs. It works great and won't get blow over unlike the other cheap offerings from other companies. This ones is the new one and is in black.
