Just the right size for studio lights when shooting studio portraits. Place the lights at the down to the right height when clients are sitting.

Sturdy and well built. I ordered two to complete my speedrail dolly, and discovered a helpful hint. I wrongly assumed that all turtle stands were standard junior pin size. I found that Newwer bases were too small for these risers. Luckily, I have several Impact Stands that fit perfectly.

Modular is the best! Once you have access to turtle bases, c-stand risers, and wheeled dollies you can mix and match them to suit your needs. It's a game changer! Want a c-stand with wheels? Remove the riser and insert it on a wheeled base. Need a shorter c-stand? Remove the tall riser and insert a shorter riser.

I needed this, thought I could find one cheaper on the used market, but they don't turn up and still shipping is crazy expensive via e-bay.


I'm going to pull the old Turbo Filter out of storage, this pole was part of the reason it has been in storage for so long. There are still things photo-shop can't to, or at least I like doing in camera rather than at this darn computer.


I'm going home, the computer is sucking the life out of me.

Great C-stand riser. Sturdy, light and the right size for not so high ceilings. Use it frequently to support my laptop.

Great mid height C stand riser. works great and is solid through and through; especially at the top mounting point for lighting.


had other stands that gave way at the top mounting point - I don't have to worry about that with c stands.

Calibrating my monitor was one of those things that I knew were important but I always procrastinated doing. After getting a new 4K monitor in which the color didn't match my old 32 Dell monitor I was in desperate need of put the color issue to rest once for all. I also have always wanted to try using the color passport. I was expecting to get better color accuracy and correct color balance. I tested yesterday during a sledding session my my kids and I was immediately sold. Not only the white balance was perfect, but my images were taken to a whole new level after correcting the RAW files with the ColorChecker Passport. Everything seems more vibrant, and alive. It is like I took my pictures with a very expensive medium format Hasselblad. I highly recommend calibrating your monitor and using the Color Checker passport.
