Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Batteries?

A: No batteries needed. You just point the viewer at a diffuse bright light. A lightbox is ideal (B&H sells many), but bright daylight or a bright light shone through a diffuser or off a white wall will do fine.

Q: 2. Wondering about level of JPG compression. File resolution is stated at 22MP (interpolated 4200 dpi) or 14MP (direct 3200 dpi), but what are the actual jpg file sizes (in Mb)?

A: Unfortunately the level of compression is not specified for this scanner. File sizes will vary based on what is scanned. 22MP scans will typically be around 7MB. 14MP scans will typically be around 4MB.

Q: 3. Couldn't find what digital format the images where saved as TIFF, JPEG OR OTHER?

A: It should be JPG but we do not have these in our store currently to confirm.

Q: 4. Purchased two years ago fine product. Power supply is bad. Where can I find replacement?

A: Call Alan Argraph 201-939-7722 He can help

Q: 5. Will this work well with HDMI video coming from a Apple Mac source to a BlackMagic ATEM switcher? The DAC-70's always work great but are more costly. BlackMagic Design makes an HDMI to HD-SDI converter, however they do not work we'll due to HDCP protection.

A: This may not work for getting the HDMI video out of the Apple Mac in to a Blackmagie ATEM switcher. This is a converter only, where as the DAC-70 is an Up, Down, Cross Converter. The DAC-70 having the ability to convert frame rates and resolutions is what makes it such a powerful tool and a great choice for getting signals in to a Blackmagic ATEM that under normal circumstances will not work.

Q: 6. Is it possible to take one HDMI input and output 1 pass-through HDMI output and one vertically flipped HDMI output?

A: Yes, The DECIMATOR DMON-4S has 4 independent converters that would allow you to flip one of the HDMI outputs. It supports - Horizontal and/or Vertical image flipping per window.

Q: 7. How much latency is added to the signal when using the loop output? Thanks!

A: loop out should be 0. if it re-clocks it might be 1 frame

Q: 9. I am looking for the "old" type for viewing slides that are alread on a light table. Will this work if you remove what appears to be a translucent backing?

A: A slide would be inserted into the Pana Vue product. Based on your description, a loupe such as the Peak PlaLupe 10x, BH # PE2032 would work best when viewing slides on a light table. https://bhpho.to/3ClhEob

Q: 10. How do I hook up to T V to look at pictures on the television?

A: You connect the Pana-Vue to the TV with the included video cable.
