Fotodiox Pro Hard-edge Reverse Graduated Nd Filter (6.6 X 8.6", 3 To 2-stop)
- Product Code: ga176010
-
This 3 to 2-stop, 7.9 x 10.2" FotodioX Pro Hard-Edge Reverse Graduated ND Filter is designed for use with the WonderPana 66 and FreeArc filter holder systems. This filter can be applied to darken bright skies, specifically during a sunrise or sunset, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. This filter achieves its effect with a band across its center region that provides a 3-stop reduction in light from entering a lens. This band extends approximately 1.3" in both vertical directions before tapering to clear below and lighter above, with hard-edged lines of transition before both the lighter area and the clear area. The lighter area then extends approximately 2.6" until it meets the top edge of the filter, and provides a 2-stop reduction in light from entering a lens. This filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 2mm thick. A carrying pouch is also included for storage and transport.
The placement of a 2-stop band of density over a 3-stop band of density that is directly above a clear area allows the FotodioX Pro 7.9 x 10.2" Hard-Edge Reverse-Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 to 0.6 Filter to match the positioning of the sun when it is at, or immediately above the horizon. In such instances, the sun can appear closer to the center of an image as opposed to the upper edge, and an increase in brightness is created that is more prominent on both sides of the sun than above it. This pattern of brightness corresponds to the density pattern on the FotodioX Pro 7.9 x 10.2" Hard-Edge Reverse-Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 to 0.6 Filter. The hard-edged lines of transition in this reverse, graduated neutral density filter are useful for hard transitions between the sky, land, and multiple regions of brightness within the sky.

- Compatible with FotodioX WonderPana 66 and FreeArc Systems
- Effectively darkens bright skies, specifically during a sunrise or sunset, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image
- 2-stop band of density over a 3-stop band of density that is directly above a clear area creates a neutral density pattern that matches the positioning of the sun when it is at, or immediately above, the horizon
- 3-stop band of density extends approximately 1.1" in both vertical directions, and 2-stop band of density extends approximately 2.0" until it reaches the top edge of the filter
- Density pattern corresponds to the brightness pattern of the sun when it appears at or is closer to the horizon as opposed to a higher angle, which creates an increase in brightness that is more prominent on both sides of the sun than above it
- Hard-edged lines of transition between the 2-stop band of density and 3-stop band of density, as well as between the 3-stop band of density and the clear area
- Transition lines are useful for hard transitions between the sky, land, and multiple regions of brightness within the sky
- Filter does not affect the overall coloration of the image
- Constructed from optical resin (CR39) for clarity and durability
- Filter pouch included for storage and transport

Q: 1. do I need to buy an extra piece to hold the umbrella or does it come with it?
A: You need to buy the holder from the light mfg.
Q: 2. Will this hold the alien bee 400?
A: MERF Mini has a 9 lb capacity I would think you may have to use caution outside if you are adding a soft box to it. WIND
Q: 3. Can I use this with an Alien B 400 and west tot 50x50?
A: The stand would hold it just fine. They are defiantly travel stands that have a little wobble to them fully extended. I wouldn't want to use them on a regular bases for local shoots. I personally use them for Litepanels LED lights as a travel kit and it works well in that case. For everyday use I would get a step up from these stands
Q: 4. I have 18-135mm and 50mm lens on canon90d. Will this work or any suggestions is appreciated.
A: Yes, it will work, you just have to match the filter size. If your lenses are not the same filter size, you will need to get a step down ring to use with your lenses. For example a 58-52mm step down ring.
Q: 5. What's the weight of the light with batteries when you're holding it? Thanks!
A: The weight of the FotodioX Pro FlapJack LED Wand C-308AS Bi-Color Edge Light is 6.94 lbs, while the weight of the NP-F740 batteries together would be approximately 0.9 lbs. As such, the weight of the FotodioX Pro FlapJack LED Wand with the batteries would be approximately 7.94 lbs.
Q: 6. According to the spec, this light power is very weak in daylight. It's as weak as a $20 light. Am I right?
A: We find this Pro FlapJack LED Wand to have great brightness for most applications, including video.
Q: 7. Can the C-308AS be run off AC power only after the batteries have run out of power?
A: Yes, you can run the lights on AC or on Battery. So, if the batteries run out you can switch to the included AC adapter.
Q: 8. The description says it draws 200 watts of power, but the specs say it is a 100 W LED light. Which is it - 200W or 100W?
A: The Fotodiox Pro LED-200WA-56 Daylight Studio LED has a 200W LED light.
Q: 9. In theory - would this also work to mount a 52mm lens (screw on Opteka fisheye 52mm) to a MFT (GH5)?
A: If a lens has a 52mm filter thread, the FotodioX 52mm Reverse Mount Macro Adapter Ring for Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras will allow it t attach to a GH5.
Q: 10. How long does the battery charge last when light is on full power?
A: At 100% power the light can run for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes. At 50% power, its about six hours. This applies to the included NP-740 style batteries
