Q: 1. Looking at the User Manual PDF, accessible on the Overview page, it shows an adjustable "sliding" shelf in one view. Not sure which models feature that, but does the 80L cabinet have that? Can "sliding" shelves be ordered separately from Ruggard for the 880L cabinet?

A: The 80L does not have a sliding shelf. All cabinets, except the 80, 235, and 600 have sliding shelves.

Q: 2. can't decide between the 80l or 125 l. I have three dslr bodies, a large Nikon 200-500, a 24-70, 18-200 and some other smaller lenses. Is it safe to lay lenses on side to store?I heard best to stand on end. size recommendation?

A: There is really not difference in storing lenses standing up or on their side. Most do store their lenses standing up. 80L and 125L are not a huge difference in size but 125L is larger. So you might want to get the larger one if you do want to get more equipment later on.

Q: 3. Will these plates fit the DJI RS3?

A: Yes, the DJI R Quick Release Plate for RS 2 & RSC 2 (Upper) is also compatible with the RS3.

Q: 4. What receiver will this part fit onto? Is it standard Arca Swiss? I'd like to move between the RS 2 gimbal and my Sachtler tripod which uses Manfrotto 501 compatible plates.

A: The DJI Upper Plate is Arca Swiss and the lower plate is Manfrotto 501PL compatible.

Q: 5. Can this turntable be connected by RCA only, without the need to ground?

A: Usually it is not necessary to ground your turntable as this already happens via the housing. However, should you notice a humming sound, please connect the grounding wire to the GND screw of your DJ mixer or phono pre-amp. If these devices are not sufficiently grounded, a humming sound might still occur.

Q: 6. Can I store cameras that are loaded with film in this cabinet or will it degrade the film ? What are the best temperature and humidity settings to prevent fungus growth as well?

A: You can store cameras loaded with film in the Ruggard EDC-125L Electronic Dry Cabinet (125L). Fungus grows best in humidity higher than 55% and at higher temperatures. A temperature under 70F and humidity under 55% should control fungus very well.

Q: 7. How often do you need to change the air filters?

A: Changing the filter about every 3 years would be suitable.

Q: 8. The Ruggard EDC-230L appears to have LED lighting inside the cabinet. Question: Can the internal LED lighting be turned off? Also, can your stored DSLR cameras include their batteries or should the batteries be separately stored in the cabinet?

A: Unfortunately, the interior lighting on the EDC-230L cannot be turned off. As for storing the batteries, they should be stored outside the camera.

Q: 9. Can I place this under my desk, and against a wall? Or does it need space to breathe?

A: According to the manual; Do not place the rear of the cabinet directly against a wall or other surface, this may reduce the operational efficiency.

Q: 10. Is it normal for humidity to jump 9% after opening the door for 10 seconds? When i open to put my gear in it, it goes up to 48% and it takes more than an hour to go back to 39%

A: According to the manufacturer, depending on the humidity levels in the area in which the Ruggard EDC-50L Electronic Dry Cabinet (50L) is housed, yes, it may be normal for the humidity to rise 9% after opening the door for 10 seconds.

I was actually trying to determine how to build a cabinet to store my lenses in. I came across this particular cabinet in a webcast featuring moose Peterson. He's the one that turned me onto this product. It works great, work silently, and keeps my lenses In a low humidity environment..

The 80L is the perfect size for what I was looking. I was also looking for the smallest cabinet possible to store my two Canon DSLRs (7D MII & 5D MIV), one large lens (200-400mm with internal 1.4 ext.), two medium lens (300mm F4 & 70-200mm F2.8), two smaller lens (17-55mm F2.8 & 24-105mm F4), couple of flash units, spotting scope, and spare batteries. The 80L cabinet did the job nicely. The only problem I had was when I placed the shelf in the middle it interfered with the lock, so I just lower the shelf a little and everything is fine.

The unit is easy to set up and it is quiet.

I received it in few days, very well packaged and protected.
Complete and efficient product, lot of place and nice preformed foam for lenses. (One more would be excellent)

I purchased 2 of these about one month ago. I had considered ordering either one 80L dry cabinet, or two of these 30L cabinets, but decided that the latter would work better for me due to the smaller cabinets being more flexible in placement, and the upper tray being contoured to hold lenses on their sides would make more efficient use of the smaller total volume of the two cabinets (60L vs 80L).

They arrived in perfect condition, having been packed very well by the manufacturer. I found that I was right about choosing the smaller cabinets; they hold a surprising amount of equipment for their small size, but I can place them on shelves where the larger cabinet would have never fit.

Years ago I had bought a similar type of cabinet when I lived in Tokyo, Japan, but it had a fixed humidity regulation setpoint, whereas these Ruggard cabinets have adjustable humidity setpoints, but work on the similar principal of very gently heating the air in the cabinet, which rapidly decreases the % humidity in the cabinet.

The instructions are simple and clear; I’m not sure how low the humidity can actually be regulated to, but I keep mine set on 37%, and the electronic regulator maintains the humidity between 37% and 39% (the heater turns on when the humidity rises 2% above the setpoint).

There is also a little strip LED light located in the front right corner of the cabinet. Although it does not spread light evenly throughout the entire cabinet, it is helpful in a darkened room to help see the equipment when sorting through it.

I like these two cabinets so much that I have ordered a 3rd one, having decided that at these prices and compact size I might as well store all of my cameras and optics in these.

So far I've had the cabinet for about two weeks. I actually haven't had to plug it in much because my apartment is drier than I thought (even though the outside humidity is high). The cabinet seems fairly solid and is as described. It came in good time. I am glad I have this is it also keeps my equipment from getting dusty. So far so good!

Judge for yourself which cabinet size (30L vs. 80L) suits your lens collection. You'll ultimately find bigger is better. Dehumidification is the main criteria for its use but so is dust avoidance. Also consider storing and protecting other susceptible optics and electronics. The cabinet is supplied with two 1/4 thick foam shelf liners. Storing lenses vertically optimizes capacity and accessibility with the one adjustable shelf. The unit is well designed, fabricated, boxed appropriately for safe shipment, and was received in perfect conditiona very justifiable purchase.

I was able to place the following lenses into the cabinet along with my full frame sony and vertical grip. Lenses: 200MM macro, 70-400MM, 85MM, 100MM macro, 50MM macro, 80-200MM, 15-35MM, 24-70MM and a 2X converter. The only thing was the top shelf would only hold two zooms, so the 2X converter and vertical grip had to go there.

Great cabinet lighting. The shipping container (box) it arrived in DID A GREAT JOB OF PROTECTING THE UNIT.

I personally think this cabinet is perfect for mirrorless set ups even though you could easily use it for a DSLR as well. I am using mine for my Fuji and Sony bodies as the native glass I own are relatively small. I still was able to fit a full frame MKIII in there too. If you are not in a humid environment you can still keep your gear dust free and neatly organized in a nice fairly compact cabinet. The cabinet size reminds me of a small table top fridge. Even though it appears on the smaller side you can fit a lot more in this cabinet than you would think. This is definitely a nice cabinet. This cabinet has an adjustable shelf and a lock. The only thing I can think of that I wish I could change would be having more LED lights in the cabinet to help with seeing inside when it's filled up. It's enough to light it up but it can be hard to see inside in detail with one strip along one corner but other than that it's perfect. If you need it for humidity then the drip less design will work wonders for you. Hope this helps!
