The 45° angled-viewing TrailSeeker 80 20-60x80 Spotting Scope by Celestron features a versatile 20-60x zoom eyepiece to provide views from generous vistas to tight, detailed images. The 80mm objective lens possesses light-gathering capability superior to that of scopes with smaller lenses, which makes for a bright image and enhances the scope's capabilities in low-light conditions. Proprietary anti-reflection XLT fully multi-coated optics allow for efficient light transmission through the optical path for crisp, high-contrast views.

The angled eyepiece permits comfortable glassing whether standing, sitting, or lying flat on the ground. Dual focusing offers precise image control by allowing a preliminary coarse focus, which you can then refine using the fine-focus control for a tack-sharp view. You can rotate the scope in its tripod collar a full 360° to put the eyepiece in the best position. The TrailSeeker 80 has a nitrogen-filled waterproof housing that won't fog up in humid conditions and features a sliding sunshade to keep glare or raindrops off the objective lens. To facilitate digiscoping, a T-adapter is included so you can mount a T-ring compatible with your DSLR to the eyepiece.

For adverse weather conditions, a stay-on carrying case is included that can be left on the scope during use—zippers fore and aft open for the objective lens and the eyepiece. The TrailSeeker is designed to use standard 1.25" astronomical eyepieces, so in addition to the included zoom eyepiece, you can use other eyepieces on your spotting scope to achieve higher magnifications, wider fields of view, etc.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this scope come with a padded case cover?

A: I see multiple answers with varying responses. The real answer is NO, it does not come with a padded case. However, it does come with a nicely appointed case with a heavy material and smooth zipper. The case can be left on the scope and used to as a rain cover or protective cover as it can be opened on both ends. Hope this helps!

Q: 2. The specs are not available for this product. What is the eye relief?

A: 12mm (1/2 )

Q: 3. Is is possible to mount a Nikon D600 or D700 on this with an adapter?

A: As I understand it, this scope can be used with any major DSLR camera. It comes with a T ring that screws right onto threads on the ocular end of the eyepiece (remove eye cup to reveal threads, but eyepiece itself stays in place). All you need in addition is a camera mount specific t adapter (available from B&H for less than $10 for my Canon EOS mount DSLRs). I assume the above Nikons are DSLRs, so just ask for the appropriate T adapter ring. The camera body can then be attached to the scope, just as you would attach any lens. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Is the only difference between the Celestron Regal and Trailseeker is the ED glass?

A: Yes plus magnesium construction compared to composite and additional coatings on the elements.

Q: 5. Does it have a rotating tripod collar?

A: The Celestron Ultima 80 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope Kit does not have a rotating tripod collar.

Q: 6. would this capture a whale at 2 miles away?

A: That is a hard question to answer. Where I'm at in the Appalachian mountains I don't have many opportunities to look that far. However, I can tell you this. At over a 1/4 mile I can see acorns on the oak trees. I can see all the beautiful craters on the moon and I can clearly see Venus and her moons and see the bands on Venus.

Q: 7. Is the scope designed for attachment of a Canon T3i?

A: Yes with Celestron T-ring 93419 for Canon EOS. Have a good day. Serge

Q: 8. Will it accept 1.25 astronomical eyepieces?

A: The Celestron Ultima 80 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope does not accept astronomical eyepieces however you could consider the Celestron Regal 80mm scope instead: https://bhpho.to/3FhBxAv

Q: 9. Are you able to see target hits at 300 yards?

A: At 60X magnification, you can see target hits but, it is tuff

Q: 10. Hi just what the freight charges would be to Newcastle nsw Australia might be. Cheers Alan.

A: B&H ships to Australia via DHL DHL Express would be $50.51 US Dollars. You still will be responsible for duties and taxes once it arrives in Australia
