The Luxbanx Compact Octagonal Softbox from Impact is a highly versatile tool for strobes, LEDs, and fluorescents. This compact 24" diameter softbox cast a soft and even look while retaining the wrap-around quality of larger softboxes The softbox features a soft white interior, removable front diffuser and removable inner baffle. The diffuser and baffle can be used together for maximum softening of the output. Removing the inner baffle will give you a more crisp light quality with higher contrast, while shedding the front and inner diffusers turns the Luxbanx into a large reflector with maximum brightness and contrast.

The octa Luxbanx has an additional control via the optional fabric grid which mounts to the recessed lip of the softbox with touch-fasteners. The grid narrows and concentrates the light's beam forward, controlling spill and adding directional control to the Luxbanx's attributes. The large surface area of this octagonal-shaped softbox gives you a unique wrap-around quality of light that gains emphasis as you move it closer. Catchlights in the eyes of your subject are round and natural. Every Luxbanx comes with a carrying case and a spare Flex Rod. Separate purchase of a speed ring that matches your strobe's mount is required for use. Impact makes models to fit most popular brands.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This is with grid already??

A: No, the grid is an additional accessory.

Q: 2. It is easy to fold and set up?

A: it assembles like a normal old style octa box. With practice , yes, it's easy. the first couple of times will be a lesson in how to do it.

Q: 3. Can I use it with godox ad600?

A: Yes with the purchase of Impact Speed Ring for Impact, Bowens S, Westcott & Aputure B&H # IMSRIMPV2

Q: 4. Can the Medium (60 ) Octagonal softbox be effectively used with a dual speedlight setup or are the speedlights too weak for 60 ? (using Impact SR-SHOE-D and Impact 8 air cushioned light stand) I was looking at the 36 but the grid is separate and on back order. The 60 comes with the grid for just a few more bucks and Im sure produces much softer light.

A: As with many things, the answer is, It depends. First variable, of course, is the power of your speedlights. The second variable is the f-stop you want to achieve. For my headshots at f1.4 or 1.8, I have to use the lowest setting on my Alien Bees Digibee, which, if my math is right, is somewhere down in the single digits in terms of watt-seconds. I could certainly use my SB800's for that, even with the internal baffle. The other variable is the distance between the light and the subject. For my headshots, the front of the octabox is about 24 away from the subject, and the reflector is even closer, so very little drop-off. The reason I don't use the speedlights is because I must have a modeling light. In the above type of situation it would probably work but if you're trying to shoot a full-body shot at f5.6 with the light 6 or more feet away from the subject, probably not.

Q: 5. What speedring do I need to use this with a speedlight?

A: The Chimera Speed Ring for Canon and Nikon B&H # CHSRC540EZ, would be my recommendation for your needs with a standard off-camera speedlight flash.

Q: 6. what monolight is compatible with this octagonal softbox 24 ??

A: I use the Profoto B1 with mine. Great softbox, sturdy and lightweight.

Q: 7. Thinking of using this with the Apurture 120D ii. Would this be ok to use with that light?

A: As long as you have a ring like this one https://bhpho.to/2wseQ9j it will work.

Q: 8. Is there a separate cap or cowl that wraps around the strobe and covers any open space between shell and strobe or there flaps attached to the shell?

A: it has 4 velcro flaps that connect snuggly around speed ring.

Q: 9. Hi! Is this soft box compatible with the paul buff system? Thank you

A: The Impact Luxbanx Compact Octagonal Softbox (24") can work with Paul Buff but you will need this specific speedring, BH #IMSRPCB (https://bhpho.to/4at7WSd)

Q: 10. Will this work with a regular Canon speedlite (430EXII)? If so what other item will I need to buy to make it work, thank you!

A: It will work, as far as what else? I bought Godox S-type Bracket Bowens S Mount Holder for Speedlite Flash Snoot Softbox Honeycomb and replaced the L bracket to hold the flash since the GODOX it's a lot easier.
