The VS Violin, Viola, and Mandolin Microphone from AMT is a miniature cardioid, condenser microphone designed for use with violin, viola and mandolin. The entire microphone and mounting mechanism is designed to clamp securely to the body of the instrument without damage to its finish.

The element itself is attached to a flexible gooseneck, allowing easy positioning at the sound board. The cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes off-axis audio that causes noise and feedback. An external beltpack provides the output stage and power supply for the microphone. The beltpack also provides variable impedance for line level output and standard a XLR output connector. The VS is powered with external 11-52VDC phantom power or 9-volt battery.

The miniature design of the microphone and mount provide an unobtrusive, secure hold without damaging the intrument's finish.

An external beltpack provides 11-52V phantom power via external sources or houses a 9-Volt battery. The pack features a standard XLR output connection and can be worn during performances.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing noise and residual audio at the off-axis sections of the capsule.

The element is mounted in an integrated shock mount that suppresses handling and surface noise.

The beltpack / output stage features a level control that adjusts of line level output if necessary.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This does TTL of camera with good exposures without optical slave? I have heard issues that's why I ask.

A: I use this flash unit on manual (along with the digital camera) and cut the intensity with the down arrow. It works absolutely perfectly and beautifully. Couldn't be happier!

Q: 2. Is this flash unit fully compatible with the Nikon F5?

A: I have used it on my Nikon and everything I have tried worked. Since I use it to fill in outdoors I can say it gives me what I was looking for at the price point I was willing to pay.

Q: 3. How does one set slave mode with this flash? I cannot find the user manual anywhere online.

A: I haven't purchased it, but the user manual is on the B&H purchasing page, on the upper right hand side

Q: 4. will this flash work with ttl on the sony a6000? sony a77II?

A: Yes full TTL and HSS.Just use the ADP-MAA hotshoe adapter.

Q: 5. Does the small stand it comes with have a tripod mount screw?

A: Yes it does. I don' use it myself, but I just checked. It will fit on my tripod that I bought from Wall-Mart.

Q: 6. Is this wireless flash compatible with the New Nikon D500 without having to buy Nikon WR 10/ WR T10/WR A10 wireless adaptor set?

A: The WR10/WRT10/WRa10 will not help any flash other than the SB5000. It acts as a radio transmitter to communicate with the SB5000 only and only on the D5 and D500. This flash, the Bolt 560N is an infrared wireless flash. It will need either another flash that has wireless TTL master capability or an infrared transmitter such as Vello FWIRC-N to trigger it. Alternatively, you can use an external radio trigger system with a transmitter on camera and a receiver underneath the flash.

Q: 7. Is it OK on a 5D?

A: Yes, the Bolt VS-560C Wireless TTL Flash for Canon is fully compatible for use on the Canon EOS 5D DSLR camera.

Q: 8. How does this flash compare to the Yongnuo YN-568EX Speedlite for Nikon Cameras?

A: The Yongnuo YN-568EX Speedlite for Nikon Cameras would be the stronger of the two flashes in terms of output power. It also has a wider manual output range from 1/1 full-power down to 1/128th output power (the Bolt VS-560N Wireless TTL Flash for Nikon goes down to 1/64th minimum output power). When using i-TTL automatic flash output, the Yongnuo flash has a wider -5 EV to +5 EV flash compensation range (in 1/3 EV steps), compared to Bolt's -3 EV to +3 EV flash compensation range (in 1/3 EV steps). The Yongnuo flash has a 2.5mm sub-miniphone sync terminal, while the Bolt uses the standard PC sync terminal. The Yongnuo flash has an estimated 3 second recycle time when using full batteries, while the Bolts flash recycle time can be up to approximately 9 seconds. The Bolt flash would be both smaller and lighter compared to the larger, heavier Yongnuo flash.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Sony A7r?

A: Yes it will, all functions are supported.

Q: 10. I want to be able to use this flash off-camera. I have a Sony a57. What, if any, extra accessory do I need?

A: The flash is compatible to work with the Sony A57 off camera. You do not need any other items. Note It uses infrared signals to control the off camera flash, that it is line of site and outside in very bright light the flash might not see that signal. You will need a stand and bracket to hold the flash off camera. This is a kit with a bracket, stand and umbrella,Impact Zack Arias OneLight Accessory KitB&H # IMZALK Mfr # ZA-LKhttp://bhpho.to/1qDPRIYAnd this is the links if you just want a stand and bracket, http://bhpho.to/1jwU7ql and http://bhpho.to/18tPisN.

This is my first external flash that why I can't compare any other flash. this flash worked on both my Pen E-pl1 and om-d e-m10 mark II, it work ok on hotshoe and wireless when turn on rc mode and popup flash from camera,it also work with all mode Manual, TTL and high speed sync. on TTL mode it a little overexpose on e-pl1 and a little underexpose on om-d e-m10 II, no problem I use exposure compensation up down to get right expose. I'm not use this flash for everyday just for family holiday I don't know how long it last, hope it last longer.

I have been able to use ttl and use group a, b and c which allows me to adjust the power when the flash is off camera quickly by using different settings in a,b and c. The built in flash triggers the Bolt when off camera as long is it's in view. Working flawlessly so far and connects well when on camera as expected. For more reviews on any quality issues, I would go to a Bolt made for Canon and see their reviews.

I tried with TTL with XT2 Fuji camera and the photo looked perfect. Wnen I use manual and auto, I need to adjust the distance to subjects or the power output setting to 1/16 or 1/32 to avoid over exposure . I need more time to get along with the setting. Overall the flash worked well.
