I buy two to use as back up drives for my photos. They are stored at different locations. Every time I add one to the mix, I always check the others and they ALWAYS fire up. Western Digital is my go-to. 5

I got this drive to hold the backup created by the Macintosh program called Time Machine. A Time Machine drive creates a new backup every hour, and then after a day, those ,merge into a single backup covering the entire day. When the drive gets full, the oldest backups get erased -- so the larger the capacity of your Time Machine drive, the longer the period before it has to begin erasing old backups, and the further back in time you can go to look for something you once had but erased. A 16 Terabyte drive should last me quite a while before it has to begin erasing old stuff. That's why I bought it, because you never can tell when you'll want to be able to view an old backup. It was surprisingly inexpensive, and it seems to work very well. 5

I have used Western Digital storage for decades. An 18 TB storage unit is perfect for me. I am restoring a hard drive from a NAS unit that malfunctioned and this is working wonderfully. I highly recommend anything from Western Digital! 5

I always buy these in pairs, one as primary, the other as secondary backup. I prefer a smaller size as there is less to lose in case of a failure, but I have yet to experience even a hiccup from these drives, they are great!! 5

Got this HD, reformatted it for a MAC (simple & easy). This drive is faster than previous drives I owned. Everything is working perfectly. It is quiet & working well for storing my photographs. 5

Every Seagate drive I've ever had has crashed, and anytime someone asks me to help recover files from their crashed hard drive it's always a Seagate. Whereas I literally have over 20 Western Digital drives and I've never had a single one stop working (even ones I bought 20 years ago are still working fine). This is a Hard Disc Drive (not Solid State Drive) so the speeds could be better of course, but I knew that already, I was just buying it for the massive space. I got the 18TB version, which winds up being 16.3TB of free space after you convert their tricky decimal-to-binary tomfoolery. Happy with the purchase! 5
