The gray Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity and LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Zaxcom Transmitters is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.
Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.
The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.
A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a 3-pin LEMO connector and is wired for use with Zaxcom transmitters. A metal windscreen, holder clip, rubber mount, and plastic case are included.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Will this work for the Sennheiser MKH8060 or is there a better choice for that?
A: The Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (BH #RYS12M) is a better option for the Sennheiser MKH 8060.
Q: 2. Is this mic compatible to be used with a Denecke PS power supply? I'm having a problem, cause I just hear a loud hum noise and no transmitter signal. I tried it with other mics and transmitters, and I hear the same loud hum noise.
A: Yes, the Sanken CS-M1 can be used with the Denecke PS-1A or PS-2 which are both compatible 48V phantom power supplies. The Denecke PS-T is not compatible for use with the CS-M1 because it is a 12V "T-power" supply intended for use with older microphones that require lower voltage and the CS-M1 requires 48V phantom power.
Q: 3. What frequencies recommend for Canada?
A: The UC14: 470 to 542 MHz and UC25: 536 to 608 MHz frequency ranges of the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System are both good options for use in Canada. Each range's viability and number of open channels can vary based on the specific location they are used in.
Q: 4. Can I simply attach this to a shoe mount on the FX3 and use it?
A: Yes. The CS-M1 will work with the FX3
Q: 5. Im sony a1 user with vertical grip and sony 600 gm lens. And i need the lightest zenelli gimbal. Which one you recomend?
A: Zenelli CARBON ZR Reduced Gimbal Head is the lightest weight compatible with your equipments. If you need to swivel your camera to track a motion the best recomendation would be Zenelli CARBONZX Carbon Fiber Gimbal Head with Accessories with a weight of 2 lb.
Q: 6. Does this has extreme wether proof design and RF rejection like NTG3 and Senn MKH416?
A: The Sanken is fairly robust in adverse weather, but it is not weather-proofed. Its directionality is comparable depending on the environment.
Q: 7. Which frequency would be best for Hawaii (specifically the North Shore of Oahu)? I see some frequencies aren't allowed in Hawaii? Maybe? A specific frequency would be appreciated.
A: There is no one frequency that is best to use all of the time. Any of the bands offered will work throughout Hawaii. The reason there are three bands is so that you can use many systems in the same space and at the same time. The receiver will scan for the best available frequency within that band to use at that time. You can use up to around 8 systems in the same band, in the same space and at the same time, before you would need to worry about switching bands for your next group of systems, to avoid interference with your first group of system.
Q: 8. Will this work with canon c200?
A: This wireless system would work well with the Canon C200 camera. The appropriate XLR output cable for the receiver is supplied as well as mounting hardware to affix it to your camera's cold shoe. You can choose to come into the camera at mic or line level.
Q: 9. If im shooting with a gopro. Can I connected or somehow use it with my gopro 6?
A: An external microphone can be attached to the Go Pro HERO6 with the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter, B&H # GO35MA.
Q: 10. Can I use this mic to convert spoken word to text on an iPhone 12 much like SIRI does?
A: Yes, when connected to an iPhone, the Polsen MO-IPL2 Lavalier Microphone with Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack for iOS Devices will replace the phone's internal microphone but should function with applications in the same manner otherwise.
