Joining the other MFT mount SLR Magic Hyperprimes is the 10mm T2.1 Hyperprime Cine Lens. Designed specifically for use with MFT mount cameras with Four Thirds sized sensors the lens strikes a useful balance between size, form, and function. The 10mm lens features sharp images exhibiting little corner and edge distortion, even when the iris is at its maximum opening of T2.1.

The lens' Cine designation refers to the geared focus and iris rings, which feature 0.8 pitch teeth for compatibility with film style follow focus units. The clickless iris ring allows you to adjust the aperture during the shot for smooth iris pulls. The front of the lens does not rotate as you change focus, and is threaded to accept threaded 77mm filters or filter rings.

The clickless iris allows you to smoothly adjust your exposure during the shot.

Built-in iris and focus gears follow industry standards, allowing you to work with optional follow focus units and lens gear motors.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the angle of view?

A: This lens is designed to cover an MFT sized sensors, which is typically a 2.0x crop factor. That means it will have the equivalent of a 20mm field of view.

Q: 2. The iris ring has a little bit of drag when rotating compared to others lenses, is that normal?

A: Yes, that sounds normal.

Q: 3. Does this lens work on Panasonic GH5S?

A: Yes, this is an MFT mount lens. This lens will work with the GH5S.

Q: 4. 25mm was NAFTA qualify this one is not NAFTA qualified?thanks

A: It is up to the manufacturer to provide the proper NAFTA paper work regarding an items eligibility.

Q: 5. Will the SLR Magic Anamorphot-1.33x 50 work on this?

A: Yes it will. This lens has the proper filter thread and lens diameter to work with BH #SLRA50133X. It also has the proper focal length to work with a camera that has an MFT sensor.

Q: 6. What is the MFT focal length for this lens? Since this is a MFT lens for a MFT camera, is the focal length halved?

A: Most MFT mount cameras will have a 2x crop factor. This will be the equivalent of a 50mm lens on such cameras.

Q: 7. What are the markings 16 8 4 4 8 16 for?

A: That is the lens's hyperfocal distance scale. Normally only found on manual prime lenses like this, it can be a very useful tool. First determine your aperture and by using the image above of the lens as an example, lets say it is a f/16. The lens focus is set here to 3'6 . Note that the right hand 16 lines up with 10' and the left hand 16 lines up with 2'4 . This is your depth of field with this 10mm lens, with a aperture setting of f/16 and a focus of 3'6 . Your area in focus is 7'8 . Another example, one very good for gimbal work. Move the focus ring until the Infinity (Inf) mark lines up with the right hand aperture of whatever the aperture is be it 4 or 8 or 16. Then look to the corresponding one on the left and note the distance on the focus ring. That means everything from that point to infinity is in focus. No focus pulling needed. This knowledge was the basis of my profession as a camera assistant. Sometimes I would wish all lenses had this much dept of field.

Q: 8. will this fit black magic pocket camera

A: The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 Hyperprime Cine Lens has a Micro Four Thirds mount. This lens is compatible with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.

Q: 9. What is the filter thread diameter?

A: 62mm, not 58mm.

Q: 10. Is it just me or does the aperture ring very tight and slightly difficult to turn?

A: Should loosen up a bit with use.

Manfroto is the best when it comes to temporary camera mounting and/or light mounting. This arm is no different. I use it all the time in different ways; very versatile.

These are really versatile. I have three, and wouldn't like to be without them in my kits.

My most frequent for these Magic Arms is to mount Atomos Shoguns to video tripods and to my video crane. They are also perfect for holding cameras when they need to be in difficult places such as for some overhead shots.

I was looking for a sturdy solution to mounting an external flash on the leg of my tripod. I searched for cheap alternatives initially, but knew they wouldn't hold up. So far this 244N has been rock solid, and does exactly what I need it to. Takes a little force to get the friction arm fully locked, but that may be from it being new. Definitely worth the price.

So far, this has worked really well; I used it with one of my existing SuperClamps to attach a 26 octabox to a fence. I think it should be able to hold my 5D Mk IV + 24-105 or 17-40, but I haven't tried that for real yet.

You're paying for Manfrotto's goodness with this and you know it. I have two of them and they work outstanding and are rock-stable holding my devices for my streaming setup. My only suggestion is that you get the IMPACT Super Clamp with Ratchet Handle and save yourself a couple of dollars while getting a phenomenally strong clamp in the process!
