Q: 1. I noticed the pin that come with Spider Pro Plate has a flat top. What is the advantage of that as opposed to this one?

A: Both pins will operate identically in the holster. The difference to you depends on the tools you have with you in the field to maintain your kit. The pin style with the single drilling can be tightened or loosened with an awl, small screwdriver, or similar bit you might have on your multi-tool. The pin with flats requires an open-end wrench, either adjustable or the correct fixed size. A suggested practice is to go through your complete kit to ensure that you have all of the tools needed to adjust or fix every threaded part of your rail, tripod, light bracket, or anything else you use. I have one of these pins mounted to a video frame on my Sony A6000. One day during a shoot, it actually did work all the way loose while hanging from the holster. The lanyard around my neck prevented the camera from falling to the sidewalk.

Q: 2. Is this the same pin that comes with the Spider Light?

A: Hi Craig, Thank you Charles!.. ALL Spider pin's ballhead diameter are the same and so all pins will work with ALL Spider Holsters. It is the bottom of the pins that is NOT the same. The SpiderLight system is using our new Anti-Twist design. That design will not allow for the pin to turn and thus it will never de-thread from the Spider plate by accident. The SpiderLight pin in turn, can not be attached directly to the bottom of your camera. It needs the Spider plate.The black widow pin WILL engage/attach to any camera (or other device that uses 14/20 thread). A: Yes this pin has a standard 5/8th diameter the same as a light stand.

A: No, the Matthews Super Mafer Clamp with Baby (5/8") Pin does not include wedge inserts or any baby pins.

Q: 5. Why this one costs more than Avenger E250 ? Different metal?

A: The Avenger E250 Long Double 5/8" Baby Pin is designed for use inside a super clamp or any other locking 5/8" receptor. Meanwhile, the Avenger E650 6.0" Pin with Collar is designed for use with a grip head. The collar at the end of the pin acts as an anchor to prevent the pin from sliding completely through a grip clamp.

A: Yes, the SpiderLight Plate With Pin is fully compatible with the EOS R.

Q: 7. I noticed there is more than one pin for the spider pro holster. They all look alike. I'm taking that to mean that they have different thread sizes. Is the thread size on this one 1/4-20?

A: There is only one pin for the SpiderPro holster, and there is one pin for the Spider Black Widow Holster. This pin's thread size is a 1/4 -20.

A: That's a rather personal question :) (Monty Python)I think this is the same pin that I am lholding right now. There are a couple of versions.Total length is 3-3/4 . Actual round pin above the hex is 2-3/4 . Most baby pins are usually 2-4 long.If you need a longer one, I think Matthews has a 6 with a collar, so it doesn't slip though the gobo head, when used upside down. Good to have one, or two in the grip kit.
