The WL436 Series Long-Range White Light Illuminator from Iluminar is a visible light illuminator for surveillance cameras. A: I don't see the problem. The flash attach to its own ring that can go after the polarizing lens. All lenses have screw on both sides to allow this kind of connection. You just have to pick the proper flash adapter diameter wise according to your lens diameter.

Q: 4. Can this shoot in high-speed synch mode with a D810?

A: It will... but not necessary. This light is not a strobe, per se. A strobe needs to be synchronized with a shutter because of the extremely short duration of the light flash. The VM 110 will work fine with your D810, because the lights are on for longer than the shutter is open. (at high speed). I am oversimplifying this explanation. It will work with your camera. Do not expect it to stop action though. THAT is not what the light is designed for.

Q: 5. compatible with sony a6000?

A: It is compatible with the camera body, as Sony uses TTL with the Hot Shoe. The problem is with attaching the adaptor rings to the lens. The standard lens, Sony E-16-50 mm, only has a filter thread of 40.5mm and will not work. The accessory lens Sony E-55-210mm however has a filter thread of 49mm and work nicely. Bottom line is the filter thread size. The VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light supports 8 thread sizes. Hope this helps.

A: From a Sony A58 tech review, Hot shoe. As noted previously, the external flash hot shoe has been entirely replaced. Gone is the Konica Minolta-derived proprietary hot shoe that's featured on most previous Sony Alpha cameras, replaced with the new Multi Interface hot shoe. This not only supports standard flashes, but also integrates 21 additional pins embedded at the front of the shoe for interfacing all manner of accessories to the camera.
