The gray Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity and LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Sennheiser Transmitters is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a 3-pin LEMO connector and is wired for use with Sennheiser transmitters. A metal windscreen, holder clip, rubber mount, and plastic case are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the G4 system work with the Sanken COS-11D?

A: Yes it does. The Sanken mic is far better than the one that comes with the kit and it is perfectly compatible.

Q: 2. Headphone jack?

A: This is the 512P G4, yes, has a headphone jack to monitor at the receiver.

Q: 3. How much bias voltage does the 112p G4 transmitter provide? Will it adequately power a DPA 4060 which requires at least 5V?

A: No, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter included with the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System will supply up to 3V, so it is not a suitable match for use with the DPA Microphones 4060 CORE Omni Lavalier Microphone.

Q: 4. What is the correct frequency version for Chicago IL?

A: Both frequency ranges offered for the Sennheiser EW 512P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System appear to have available channels for the Chicago, Illinois area, however there may be slightly more available on the GW1: 558-608MHz range.

Q: 5. Which frequency would be best for Hawaii (specifically the North Shore of Oahu)? I see some frequencies aren't allowed in Hawaii? Maybe? A specific frequency would be appreciated.

A: There is no one frequency that is best to use all of the time. Any of the bands offered will work throughout Hawaii. The reason there are three bands is so that you can use many systems in the same space and at the same time. The receiver will scan for the best available frequency within that band to use at that time. You can use up to around 8 systems in the same band, in the same space and at the same time, before you would need to worry about switching bands for your next group of systems, to avoid interference with your first group of system.

Q: 6. Does this come with an XLR cable?

A: They Sennheiser ew 512P G4 system comes with the CL500 receiver 3,5mm male to XLR male receiver output cable (B&H # SECL500), which connects the wireless system to a professional camera, recorder, mixer, etc. An additional CL1 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male receiver output cable (B&H # SECL1) is also included for connection to DSLR cameras and other devices with a 3.5mm input jack.

Q: 7. Can these lavalier be wirelessly connected to a soundboard?

A: Yes. The Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be connected to a soundboard (mixer). The system comes with two receiver output cables, one with a 3.5mm connector and one with an XLR connector. You can use the cable with the XLR connector to send the output from the receiver into a mic input on the board.

Q: 8. How do we know which frequency range to get? Is there a list showing which frequency range is best for specific countries?

A: These Sennheiser products are offered as legal devices in the USA only. Please contact Sennheiser directly in the country you'll be using this product in to purchase the correct system. We do not ship Sennheiser wireless products overseas.

Q: 9. If im shooting with a gopro. Can I connected or somehow use it with my gopro 6?

A: An external microphone can be attached to the Go Pro HERO6 with the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter, B&H # GO35MA.

Q: 10. Hi, I own a Sennheiser EW100 G3 Frequency 643.450 MHZ. I want to buy a EW 112P-G4 Omni Directional Mic to work with my EW100 G3 at the same time on my Gh5 XLR unit. Will these 2 wireless mics work with each other with no interference?

A: Yes, they can be used at the same time without interfering with one another. Please be aware that the FCC recently auctioned the 600mHz band away from wireless users, and wireless systems between 614 and 698 mHz will no longer be able to be used in the U.S. after July 2020. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/bureau-divisions/mobility-division/wireless-microphones
