Q: 2. can I use ui 16 as a stagebox?

A: The Ui16 is a mainly a mixer which is meant to be placed on, or near the stage, and controlled via a tablet or PC. This will not interface as a digital snake for other mixers.

Q: 3. Can the Ui12 model be rack mounted?

A: The Ui12 is not designed to be rack mounted. USB, Ethernet as well as power switch are located on the left and right sides of the unit.

Q: 4. Can you bypass all of the onboard effects and record straight from the pres to the SD card?

A: Yes you can bypass effects also record to sd card all of your recordings save to SD card

Q: 5. can I export the UI 16 to india

A: Most European countries will allow electronic devices to be shipped. To be sure you will need to contact your carrier to find out if they will be able to send that unit.

Q: 6. Is there a maximum recording time per song?

A: With a 128 GB SDHC/SDXC Memory card, you can activate all 20 channels for recording and record for 10 hours and 56 minutes. Recording on just one channel yields 80 hours, 13 minutes. (2 channels = 60 hours 10 minutes) This is at a 44.1 kHz, 24 Bit rate and bit depth. At 96 khz, 24 bit, 1 track will run for 36 hours, 51 minutes and 20 tracks will record for 5 hours, 1 minute. If you want to use 48 kHz, 24 bits,, 1 track is 73 hours, 42 minutes and 20 tracks is 10Hr. 3 min. Recording at 16 bits? Multiply these times by 1.5. This is the total time for as many songs as you have. If they each run 4 minutes, you can record a lot of songs before you have to empty the memory card. I've found my machine to be a solid performer! Very clear recordings!

Q: 9. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a different usb bluetooth adapter?

A: No and I do recommend using their Bluetooth adapter for a clean signal

Q: 10. Can you link two of the mono tracks in the setup to have additional stereo inputs from the 2 that are on the L20?

A: Yes, you can use any of the individual mono input channels to connect instruments, mics or other devices in order to create a stereo input. For example, if you are using a stereo microphone or connecting a keyboard that has two separate outputs for left and right, you can certainly connect each output to a different individual mono input on the L-20.

I use it for corporate use. The four inputs are awesome. I don't need to bring a separate mixer anymore. It does more than I expected.

The DR-70D is excellent to record audio in interviews or press conference. I love the idea to have 4 channels I use lavaliers or boom microphones and it does the job. For the price I think this is a excellent Product.

After using this as a rental on a corporate shoot, and being pleased with it, I bought this to use with my Panasonic GH4 camera, which I started using to shoot corporate videos. The internal audio on the GH4 wasn't bad but was a bit noisy. The DR-70D is such a huge improvement. Low noise. Great audio. I typically plug in a Sennheiser wireless lav and a Sennheiser MKE600 shotgun mic. I'm getting much richer sound than plugging the mics directly into the camera. I mount it on top of the camera with the hot shoe. I use the output to camera to go into the GH4 for sync/scratch track and then use the audio slate on the Tascam to create a sync mark, which makes it very easy in post to sync the Tascam tracks to the GH4 image and scratch audio track. I bought the optional AC power adapter since I shoot a lot on location in offices where I can plug in. If I do use batteries (when I'm outside), I use rechargeable ones. (There's a setting in the Tascam for NiCad batteries, you can select between the types.)

As a recorder that creates a separate file for each input this recorder does all I wanted it to do.

In practice, though, Dr Dimenta's (5/26/18) review is spot on in that access to the SD card/battery is iffy and the display shows 1&2 and 3&4 as active even if only one input for each set is connected. Without a Solo button the monitoring is very difficult. I'm using it as a two-track/two-file recorder with inputs to 1 and 3 most of the time.

No shoots with it yet, but it seems worth the money. Fit, finish and design seem fine. Pots and screen are fine. If you're interested, check with the manual before you buy to see if you can record the right combination of channels that you'll need. I haven't figured that out yet. From what I've seen so far, no problems. The five stars are provisional. Feel free to ask questions, I'll know more later.

After purchasing the first one, I purchased another because this recorder does the job so well. When considering the TASCAM DR-70D, I read through a lot of reviews, and had a bit of caution after reading those complaining about the quality of the battery cover. I don't agree . . . it's durable enough that it does what it's supposed to do. Yeah, it's small, and yes, operating the batter cover latch without a bit of a fingernail available could be a bit of a challenge, but it's a very small drawback for what it otherwise a well-miniaturized field recorder that produces excellent sound. I also like the fact that you can record to the PCM and your camera simultaneously with sound that has passed through the DR-70D's electronics. With two of these in operation on the same shoot, my backups have backups.

Easy to setup... fits nicely under my canon's. Have only used it a few times but so far so good. You will go through batteries so the USB external power supply is a plus.

I purchased this device for recording audio on the making of Doppelgang, The double within, a film story. I wasn't overly fussy about the quality of sound on this project but being able to record sound in up to 96k and 24 bit was going to be more than enough for my purpose. However, I ordered an ac adapter That showed up on the bottom of the product and thought it would power the DR-70D but it was the wrong plug. I haven't mentioned anything yet to B&H, but I feel certain they would recognize their error and make amends. The menu on the device is easy to read and learn. The quality of the so the Rode boom mic NTG2 is simply outstanding match made in B&H. I can actually hear my lips slapping each other as I read my lines. The mic was just outside the frame.

I had been using a DR-40 with a Rode NTG-2, but the noise floor was always too high. Switched to this recorder for the higher quality preamps and adjustable gain, and now my audio sounds great. As others have said, there are small caveats - the battery door is ridiculous, and the form factor isn't really convenient for mounting under a DSLR if you plan on carrying it - but at this price point, there's really no competition. Bottom line, if you plan on doing most of your recording from external mics, get this over a DR40 or Zoom H4N.

This is a really well thought out audio recorder for video shoots. Physically, you can mount it right under your camcorder so all the controls are right there. The DR070D feeds mic audio and a sync beep to your camcorder so sound/picture synchronization is a snap. Separate level controls for each of the four channels certainly makes this recorder easier to use than the handheld recorder we used to use on video shoots. We have switched over to using all condenser mics and this recorder supplies the phantom phower. Probably a good idea not to mix dynamic and condenser mics as switching the phantom power for each channel is buried in a menu with confirmation required to turn it on. The sound quality is fantastic. The dynamic range is wider than any room I've recorded in.
