Utilizing a nano coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens, the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens answers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Canon EF mount, and it features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 10mm lens produces a 105.9° angle-of-view when used on cameras with APS-C-sized sensors. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of 7.9" from the lens. A built-in petal shaped lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box.

Nano Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard, eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.

Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings. Each lens in the Rokinon DS series share common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories, such as follow focus units or iris motors, don't have to be re-positioned.

The lens features an internal focus mechanism, so the front of the lens doesn't rotate when changing focus, allowing you to use filters and clip-on matte boxes without vignetting as you change (pull) focus.

The lens features a 6-bladed iris that provides round out of focus highlights and a natural looking Bokeh. The declicked aperture ring allows for smooth iris pulls.

A built-in lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Im thinking of getting this kit with the Panasonic GH4, should I get the MFT set or should i get a metabones adaptor and the Canon EF set? If so what s the best adaptor to get to counter the GH4s crop factor?

A: If you get the set in MFT or E mount, you cannot use it with any other mount. If you get them in EF, not only will they work on a EF camera but with the appropriate adapter MFT, and E mount cameras as well. A Metabones speed booster will widen out the FOV of these lenses, negating the need for purchasing an extra lens for your wide needs. If you are going to use the GH4 for still and video, get the 0.71 Speedbooster. If you are using it for video only, go for the 0.64. This matches the lenses best for their intended use.

Q: 2. there are full frame?

A: If you have a full frame camera, this would work perfectly well because it is not an APS-C mount.

Q: 3. WHAT is the AOV of this lens on a BMPCC super 16 sensor ??

A: The original Pocket Cinema Camera has a 2.88x crop factor. This would be the equivalent of a 46mm lens on that camera.

Q: 4. Can be mounted to the new Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6K EF-Mount? - Thank you

A: Since the APS-C and the Super35 formats are so similar in size, lenses for one format will almost always work with the other. While the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Canon EF Mount for APS-C has not been tested per se with the unreleased Mini, there should be no issue using the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 EF mount lens.

Q: 5. Is there a hard case included? Thanks!

A: Sorry no case is included but you can use this one. It will take the lenses in spite of the brand difference. You may have to use a serrated knife to cut the holes to fit.

Q: 6. Will this lens work on a Super 35 Sensor camera such as a C100/C300?

A: Although the lens has not been tested specifically on the two cameras listed, APS-C and S35 are close in dimension and the lens won't have any issue mounting to those cameras. If suffering slight vignetting on the C100 with this lens, the camera offers an EF-S lens mode option which crops into image slightly to remove that vignetting.

Q: 7. Hi,will this kit work on a BMMCC + a speedbooster for BMPCC? Especially the 16mm one, considering its sensor size. Thanks!

A: Sorry but the Metabones Canon EF Lens to Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera T Speed Booster ONLY works on the Pocket Cinema Camera. Used on the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera (MFT Mount) the adapter's rear glass element may cause damage to the camera. You would have to use the Metabones Canon EF Lens to Blackmagic 2.5k Cinema Camera T Speed Booster (Micro 4/3 Mount) to mount these lenses on the camera. The 16mm is meant to cover an APS-C sensor which is 22.2mm wide. With the Booster's 0.64 factor applied, that comes to 14mm. You will be good since the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera (MFT) sensor is 8.8mm wide.

Q: 8. Would this lens be compatible with the Black Magic Studio Camera (not the 4K)? I don't see it listed in the Compatibility section, but if it's MFT...shouldn't it fit?

A: Yes this lens is compatible with the Blackmagic Studio Camera.

Q: 9. What will this give on a 1.6 crop factor sensor like Canon SL2? will it maintain it actual size or magnify it

A: The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount for APS-C cameras will not give you a crop factor if used with APS-C camera like the SL2 or a Super 35 mm camera. A case where you would have a crop factor would be if your lens was a full frame and you were mounting it to an APS-C/35 mm sensor camera. Then the crop factor would be 1.6. A crop factor exists only when the sensor size is smaller than the lens size.

Q: 10. Does the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS lens has a filter thread?

A: The 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Canon EF Mount for APS-C does not offer a filter thread.
