The beige Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Reduced Sensitivity and TA5F Connector for Audio-Technica Transmitters is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a TA5F connector and is wired for use with Audio-Technica transmitters. Accessories are sold separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'm looking to shoot two or three people in one shot, with the boom overhead on a stand. Mostly indoors. Would this mic capture everyone's dialogue if there is no boom operator to move to the speaker?

A: A shotgun mic should be used to pick up dialog from one person, or professional sounding audio. If you use it to pick up two people, the sound will become thin. I would suggest using a boom person, or setting up two mics in a stereo configuration.

Q: 2. Slide switch up or down for phantom power ?

A: Neither. The switch is a low cut filter. If a AA battery is inside of the microphone, you do not need phantom power. If there is no battery inside, then you need phantom power.

Q: 3. How long is the included 5 pin to 3 pin XLR cable?

A: The AT8022 XY stereo microphone includes a 6.5 foot long (2 meters) 5-Pin XLR to dual 3-Pin XLR Cable.

Q: 4. Can this product work with Smartphones, if so, what brands ?

A: The Audio-Technica AT-UMX3 Livestreaming USB Audio Mixer (BH # AUATUMX3) would accept a line level input from a variety of products including smartphones (brand agnostic).

Q: 5. Does the 1/8" connection also provide phantom power? Or is it only through the XLR cable?

A: When using the Audio-Technica AT8022 X/Y Stereo Phantom and Battery Powered Field Microphone with its XLR to 3.5mm TRS output cable, the microphone will not receive phantom power from the corresponding 3.5mm input connection. When used with this connection the AT8022 should be powered from its AA battery compartment.

Q: 6. Will it run through irig android interface?

A: This mic will run throught an iRig, using the analog audio XLR connection.

Q: 7. What does the limited 1 year warranty cover?

A: The Limited 1-Year Warranty covers failure due to defects in the manufacturing process.

Q: 8. can this Zanelli CARBON ZR Reduced Gimbal Head fit my Gitzo GT5532S SER 5 6X systematic ?

A: Hi Tin, yes you can At your disposal Best Regards

Q: 9. Why does the product description say "dynamic", when it is clearly a condenser mic?

A: The product description is accurate and the ATR2100x-USB is a dynamic microphone, not a condenser microphone. The microphone's element (also called a mic capsule) which converts audio to an electronic signal is dynamic and does not require any voltage to operate. Condenser microphones do require voltage to function. What may be confusing you is the built-in USB audio interface which converts the analog signal to a digital signal and does require 5V DC which is supplied by the computer's USB port. The ATR2100x-USB offers both analog output via XLR and digital output via USB, but the actual mic element used to initially convert audio to an electronic signal, that is dynamic. Please see the manufacturer's specifications on page 16 of the user manual for further details and verification: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/593253.pdf

Q: 10. What length are the USB cables?

A: The USB cables included with the Audio-Technica Consumer ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone measure 6.6'.
