Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Think this thing is strong enough to hold a 70-200mm vr ii?

A: Yes, it's strong enough to hold 70-200. However, there is an inconvenience when you attach the lense on your hip side, you should put your lense on horizonal position. Vertical is fine for standing to take the picture, but not good when you sit down. The lense is too long and it will hit the road , so be careful

Q: 2. Will this work with the V3 Capture Clip? I see the supplied Clip is V2...

A: Correct, our Lens Kit is compatible with our new Capture V3

Q: 3. Does this come with the clip to attach to your belt/pack?

A: Yes, the clip is included.

Q: 4. is the body of this unit made of metal? I have the Gowing equivalent of the Peak, and the body is plastic and there are reports of failure with dropping of an expensive lens. I hesitate to use my unit.

A: The plate that slips into the device that clamps onto a belt or strap is made of metal. The flat belt gizmo is also metal so you have a secure metal to metal connection. The red protusion on the flat plate ejects the lens holding body when pushed in but also pulls out and rotates to lock the protusion from being accidently depressed and releasing the lens holder. The black wheel clamps down and secures the lens holder in place even further. The body itself to which the lenses attach is of plastic which WOULD be of concern if the slideing base that locks to the belt holder were of plastic but it's not. Metal to metal connection. I use it confidently even with both a 70-200 and 24-70 attached simultaneously. Only time it failed me is when I didn't completely rotate the 70-200 to its lock position. Fell 30 to concrete on the lens hood but did't do any evident or lasting damage.

Q: 5. Will the adapter attach to the center column of most tripods?

A: The Peak Design Universal Head Adapter will mount only onto a Peak Design tripod.

Q: 6. Does this work with the new capture?

A: Sure will!

Q: 7. what's the difference between the PL-S-2 & the PL-S-3 plate?

A: The PL-S-3 is only capable with the Peak Design Capture Clip V3, while the PL-S-2 works with all generations of the Capture Clip.

Q: 8. Will this work with a panasonic micro four thirds lens

A: No, this is for a Canon EF mount lens.

Q: 9. Does this swivel or are they rigid?

A: It will have a swivel feature. You just need to simply pull directly outwards and turn whatever direction you'd like.

Q: 10. How is the lateral adjustment accomplished so that the camera is pointed straight ahead?

A: Hi! You can articulate the camera to any desired angle by loosening and tightening the connection screws. See more from video link below. https://youtu.be/k5k1IBRY32c?t=62

This price of equipment comes out everytime my production team videos a wedding. It eliminates the necessity of having a camera bag over your shoulder/in the way of everything. Transitioning from one lens to the next is super quick. I kinda need a threeway though. It can tend bounce and your belt needs to be tight, so almost gave it four stars because of that. I don't think there's a better option and this one does a specific job really well.

Great idea and implementation of a needed project. Too many times in the field shooting waterfalls or other, I have dropped a lens while changing lenses. This is a great fix for that.

Can't think of much I'd do differently to improve this product. The only weak spot might be the plastic buttons, and the springs inside. I've only used it once so far, but was impressed with the functionality and convenience. Held my 70-300 zoom just fine, though I didn't hike around with it attached for more than a few minutes. Had it fastened around my belt. Worked great to keep my lenses more quickly swappable.
