A: You could make this work with a 24' wide background but you would need to clamp it onto the bars with A-clamps because the middle stand will prevent a background with a pole pocket from passing onto the next bar.

I use these stands for location work and love them! They're extremely portable yet solid enough to hold studio strobes. They fold down small enough to fit in my air case with my strobes allowing me the luxury of not having to bring an extra light stand bag. Highly recommended! 5

I bought this as a compact, yet sturdy way to hold my on location lighting kits. When I got it, the first thing I noticed was how well built it was compared to my other stands. Once set up, I knew they weren't kidding with that 11lb payload! Only negative would probably be the price, but not something that would have me knock a star off. 5

I bought this stand so I could get my studio lights closer to the ground for doing babies. This stand does just that. I can now get my softbox clear to the floor which makes lighting small subjects so much better. 5

Perfect light stand for outdoor/location shoot. I used to have to carry large light stand for my Alien Bees 1600 lights with vagabond. Now I carry this compact light stands and they are much easier to carry and handle. Also, this unique legs makes the stand to be able to stand while the wind is blowing. Placing a sand bag, it is not going anywhere! 5

we are using them to replace the failed K-stands in Lowel kits works better than originals. Easier to extend and seem to be more stable. Have not punished them for a full year of student production work so may be back to amend but initial testing is very positive. 5

I bought this stand as a utility stand for lights or occasionally for a boom mic. I was impressed by the way the legs fold and can be used flat on the ground, as I am always nervous about microphones getting knocked over. This feels very sturdy and well made. Note that it's about 6' with the legs flat on the ground, the 7' figure requires them to be used normally. I expect to get another one of these soon and use them as my daily light stands. 5

I love Matthews sands and this one is definitely not at sturdy as some of the other but it does allow me to get me soft box really low to the ground. Great little stand to have in the kit! 5
