The Pro Capture Dual DVI HD Capture Card (Two Channels) from Magewell is a normal-profile PCIe 2.0 x4 card that allows for capturing two channels of DVI, VGA, Component, or HDMI + embedded audio via the two DVI inputs and supplied breakout cables. The card supports various color sampling modes, color depths, color formats, up to 8 audio channels at 48 kHz (HDMI only), and output resolutions up to 2048 x 2048 with frame rates up to 120 fps. The card is also capable of numerous video processing features, including cropping, scaling, de-interleaving, aspect ratio conversion, color format conversion, video frame rate conversion, and video OSD composition.

Pro Capture Dual DVI supports multiple cards per system and unlimited output streams for any one input channel with independently adjustable parameters per stream. Additional features include ultra-low latency, timestamp and A/V synchronization, and LED status indicators. The card supports both Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, with multiple APIs for Windows and Linux, and with Windows SDKs for easier integration.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the bitrate of the output in comparison to the USB 3.0 of 625MB/sec? How many of these can theoretically be used on a single computer (assuming the CPU is powerful enough to keep up)?

A: When using USB 3.0 this Magewell capture device has a throughput of 300-350MB/s. It can also record at resolutions up to 1080p60. You'd be able to get a very high quality recording. It is possible you could use more than one at a time if you have a powerful enough computer with separate USB buses and the proper software. However a PCI card with multiple HDMI inputs will be a far safer solution than using more than one of these units.

Q: 2. What format does it safe the file on my Windows PC?

A: This will depend on the software you are using to record and its capabilities.

Q: 3. I am using the zoom teleconferencing software. Will one of these ran from my Macbook pro to the Atem Television Studio switcher work? To where you see all of the people or will it work to where you see only one person through the magwell?

A: This is a single input HDMI capture device. It will see whatever input you send it out of the HDMI Output. It is compatible with Zoom as well, but is only see the input it is given. Seeing the other individual on the screen would be done through Zoom software itself.

Q: 4. Can I also use to record directly to a laptop as a backup?

A: I use it to record directly to a desktop, so a laptop would have the same function. You need a good processor, video card, and lots of RAM.

Q: 5. Does this work with macOS Catalina (10.15)?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 6. The custom USB3.0 cable that's included...is it A-A male?

A: Yes it is.

Q: 7. someone at BandH: will this work with OSX Mojave?? and why does it get so hot?

A: Yes, this capture device should work fine with OS X Mojave. However if you are facing issues with it over heating feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 8. Can I capture video and sound from video camera using hdmi cable?

A: yes this will capture HDMI video with embedded audio

Q: 9. Can I use the Magewell XI100DUSB HDMI USB 3.0 Capture Dongle to use my camera as video source for Cisco WebEx?

A: It is our opinion that this may very well work with the Cisco WebEx. However, we suggest contacting Cisco for their particular requirements.

Q: 10. Can you buy a spare mini bnc adapter cable for this product, THE BMD and Canare ones in micro mini bnc are not correct size. A spare would be important to have if you lose or break the included one?

A: Unfortunately, the part is not available through our store. The part could be requested Magewell support. MCX to SDI cable Part number: 90050.
