Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter work with Canon EFS 18-135mm to MFT mount?

A: Yes, the Vello Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Adapter would allow you to connect the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lenses onto cameras that use the Micro Four Thirds lens mount. Do note there is no electronic communication between the camera and lens, so you would not be able to adjust the aperture of the lens or have autofocus, and EXIF data will not be sent from the lens to the camera.

Q: 2. Will this work with the dual range 50 summicron?

A: This adapter works with all M mount lenses.

Q: 3. will this work with canon efs 18-55 lens

A: Yes, they are compatible.

Q: 4. - Does this produce any VIGNETTING (like the Vello adapter version with "Aperture control" ring) when using Full Frame Canon Lenses on Panasonic M4/3 camera? - Does it increase the Full Frame to M4/3 CROP Factor (which is calculated as 2x)? Thank you!

A: But I can't recommend it because you won't have any aperture control.

Q: 5. I notice in the reviews there's a crop factor mentioned - is this the crop factor caused by using a 35mm measurement lens on the GH4 or is there a further crop due to the adapter use. If so how much? If I mount a 100mm lens what would the final crop be (ish)? Thanks

A: This particular adapter is fully mechanical, so any crop factor is going to be from the lens being used on the GH4. Since Micro Four Thirds cameras have a 2x crop factor, a 100mm lens will effectively act as a 200mm lens.

Q: 6. Will this control aperture from BMPCC and other M4/3 cameras?

A: The Viltrox EF-M1 Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S to Micro Four Thirds Camera, will control aperture when used with a Micro Four Thirds cameras, including the Black magic Pocket Cinema Cameras.

Q: 7. does this support auto focus?

A: No it does not

Q: 8. Will anyone specifically tell if she used Canon EF-S 10-22 on bmpcc using Vello adapter with flying colours, so to say? i am dying to hear a definitive yes or big no and then move on. Till now the debate is ambivalent. i have the lense and i want to buy bmpcc and Vello adapter.devi

A: NO, but would suggest you get the Speedbooster rather than the Vello, have both and you can't beat the speedbooster

Q: 9. can lenses without an aperture ring work? If so, how is the aperture set?

A: It works but there are extreme limitations. You'll get a lot of blurry pictures and videos. It's best to go with the metabones.

Q: 10. I have a Pentax 65ED spotting scope and an Olympus OM-D. If I buy the PF-CA35 adaptor to replace eyepiece on the scope, will this enable me to mount the OM-D body on the scope? Alternatives? Thanks.

A: Yes, if you use the Novoflex Pentax K to Micro Four Thirds Lens Adapter in combination with the Pentax PF-CA35 adapter, you could use a Micro 4/3 camera (such as your Olympus OM-D) on the scope. Please note! Your camera will need to be in fully manual exposure mode.

I saw plenty of reviews saying the autofocus was Ok, nothing special but with 28-80mm EF kit lens it's much better than I was lead to believe. True, it's not quite as fast as a native MFT lens but that's expected.

I've also been using this with an M42 adapter (with a little electrical tape strategically placed so as not to short the contacts) and several vintage lens and it's also been working great.

If I had one nitpick is that there a wee bit of play when the adapter is mounted on the camera. Nothing too bad, but it's there. Otherwise the build quality is great and the price is way, WAY better than that other brand. Would recommend to a friend.

After reading reviews I was expecting the need to calibrate this adapter.
When it arrived, the full focus range of the lens was accessible (macro to infinity) and calibration was not necessary.

I like how the adapter recalculates the aperture for the camera body to reflect the speed boost.
Happy with this purchase

Coming from a metabones speedbooster, I was a bit skeptical about this adapter. I had purchased the version one about a year ago and ran into some issues when trying to set infinity focus. The glass element wouldn't turn and got stuck. However, after an unfortunate accident, I need to get a lens adapter quick so I rolled the dice and try it out version 2. It feels good, has a good way, and the glass element definitely easy 2 adjust. Optically, it looks great as well. I can't tell the difference between the metabones. The only gripe I have is that it didn't come with any Allen wrenches to remove the tripod mount.

When I bought my Blackmagic pocket 4k, I knew I would want to use my canon lenses on it but didn't want to spend an insane amount of money on a metabones. Looking around I came upon this an was skeptical. it seemed too good to be true. Well I took a risk and I can say im very impressed. Having the benefit of using my EF glass along with an extra F stop is crazy! Using my 50 1.8 on my 80D I can get 1.3 on my pocket 4k, which is nuts! The conversion is very sharp as well, more than I expected.

My only complaint about it is I cannot seem to get the lenses to enable auto focus on my pocket 4k. Besides that, its a great buy and I can recommend it to anyone using the bmpcc4k.

P.S: only supports EF, not EF /s lenses.

This is a great adapter. Metabones are so overpriced. The quality on this is actually really good. A lot of people complain about focus issues, but you
Have to adjust the lens element to get it to work with your lenses! I have no issues with this and would gladly buy another.
