The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a 3-section support that replaces the 055CXPRO3 tripod. It has a load capacity of 44 lb and extends from 3.5" to 67". Its carbon fiber legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50% compared to its predecessor.

A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link 3/8"-16 attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector via a compatible arm. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

Q: 9. I need a good tutorial on how to tighten the legs. This is my second tripod where the legs become loose over time. Can someone direct me to a tutorial?

A: Although there isn't a tutorial on this topic, Manfrotto suggests that 3 turns on the screw that secures the leg locks with the provided tool would suffice.

Q: 10. Is there a hook on the center column to add a weight?

A: No, it does not. This tripod has the capability for the center column to be extended up and then adjusted to be perpendicular. You do this by hitting a red button on the bottom of the center column where a hook would be.

I purchased this tripod because of it's quality and height without extending the center post. It was the perfect choice. I shoot Nikons (D500 & D850) with the grip and "L" bracket. I added the Oben BC126 ball head and the viewfinder is perfect eye level. Thank you Manfrotto!

The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod is an outstanding piece of equipment. It is extremely sturdy yet lightweight. This set of legs replaced my Manfrotto metal legs and I though they were strong. These are much better. Nice and solid. The horizontal arm is very convenient for doing any overhead or macro photography. A recommended buy for sure.

Got this item in time for the eclipse. Put an 80d on with a 120-300 (6.7 lbs) Sigma and 2x converter. The ball head settled back alittle ( shooting almost straight up) , then held for numerous shots. Haven't tried the 90 degree offset yet but this thing works great.

I had been using a different brand that I used for traveling and hiking. After being at Yosemite photographing for several days the tripod I had was not cutting it. A photographer suggested I try this tripod so when I got home I ordered it. I took it out at night in the snow and light sleet and liked how secure and stable it handled. It was easy to use. I haven’t tried the horizontal feature yet. I am not sure about using it when I hike long distances as it is longer than what I had been using. I might try using a bungee cord to secure it to my backpack. All in all I like this tripod.

You can spend a lot more money, even though this one isnt cheap, on a Gitzo or some other ultra-high end tripod. But this carbon fiber model  does everything a photographer would want: light weight, very stable, easy to use and very effective hardware. I would recommend this to anyone at any level of photography.

Being relatively new to photography I wanted something of quality without breaking the bank. This system is light and durable but also is very well made. The carbon is a nice addition and the price for the ball and tripod together couldn’t be beat!

This tripod isn't cheap in any sense of the word. It is money well spent.
Very easy to operate. The controls are firm and the tripod is light enough to strap on and go.
I would recommend this tripod to both professional and beginner.

Really like this sturdy tripod. Have already used it for a shoot at the Las Vegas Neon Museum. Just pay attention to the instructions. They warn about pinched fingers, and sure enough, I got one when I was not focused. My bad. One trial learning!

I wanted to have one top-notch tripod in my hobby. I chose this one with the pro head option. The combination is the best tripod I now own. Very sturdy and light weight for the size.
