Since this tripod is made to be used at odd angles, and the center post trips to the side for copy work or odd backpacking fauna documenting, the knob is strategically placed in such away to allow all angles and uneven surfaces. It's excellent. May I suggest a ball-head to complete the versatility!? It's the best set-up I've ever had. I actually use my tripod now! Light and functional.

A: Without the center column raised it is 58", with the center column raised, the max height is 85".

Q: 8. Hello. I was watching someone using this yesterday, and they said their biggest problem with it, is that you can't lock down the pan base when using this. So, it keeps revolving freely. Is this true?

A: You can't lock it down but it doesn't really spin freely so I haven't found it to be a problem. There's enough friction in the movement so it has to be purposeful for it to move much. I always use a cable release so my hands aren't touching the camera when I take a shot. I often pan around so I probably wouldn't lock it down if I could.

Q: 9. Work with Ronin-MX ?

A: It works, but the screws are just a little too short(could only get 2 screws in). I had to file off some of the plastic to get all 4 screws to go in far enough to thread in. I use it on the Ronin-M with a 7inch monitor and have no issues.

Q: 10. Just to be sure, will this work with the 7/8 post on a Glide Gear DNA 6000 arm and vest?
