A: The Pentax 33-55 will give you excellent image quality, with 11 elements and 8 groups, using low dispersion glass. It will give you smooth out of focus areas, with an 8 blade aperture diaphragm.

A: I contacted Pentax with your inquiry, and they stated the correct lens hood for the Pentax smc FA 645 80-160mm f/4.5 Lens is the Pentax PH-RBF77 Lens Hood, MFR Part # 38729. Unfortunately this lens hood is no longer manufactured by Pentax and currently we do not have the lens hood in new or used options. I did check our new department and our Used Photography Department, but unfortunately, we do not have the lens hood new or used. As such, you may have to check either online in used camera stores or on a auction site like eBay to see if anyone is selling the lens. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Q: 9. I am confused. If a full frame sensor is smaller than 645, shouldn't the effective focal length increase instead of decrease?

A: Typically, angle-of-view and focal length are described relative to full-frame 35mm as it is more widespread in use. Crop factors would be then be 1x for 35mm, 1.5x for APS-C, and 0.6~0.8 (rough estimate) for medium format sensors. Since this lens is still technically (from physical distance measured stand-point) 400mm from the sensor, it's a 400mm lens. However, its angle-of-view would be equivalent to a 315mm on a full-frame.

Q: 10. The lens is front-focusing and I can not correct it with the 'Apply One' setting in the fine adjustment menu.How do I find out if this lens is in the 645z database or not ? If it is only adjustable with the 'Apply All' setting It would be not so convenient to remember to zero the setting every time i change lenses. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
