Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this take an analog composite signal from let's say a hi8 (576i) and up convert it to 1080 and up?

A: Yes, you can use this converter to upconvert an SD analog composite signal to 1080 HD-SDI.

Q: 2. Do you sell 220-240volts electronic items.?

A: While most of the items we sell are designed for use in the United States, we do sell many products that are 220 V, 50 Hz, or dual voltage. Dual voltage or 210-240 V items are generally labeled.

Q: 3. I need to convert analog video on a BNC to SDI on a BNC. Can I put analog BNC on the Y connector input and will it convert it to SDI?

A: No-Sorry this unit will convert SDI to analog. They do make a unit to do what you need. Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Analog to SDI B&H # BLASDIMC MFR # CONVMAAS2

Q: 4. This doesn't appear to allow for audio embedding. Or does it? I have an SDI source without audio. I need to inject audio to the SDI and output to analog. Is there something like that?

A: Yes, but I need analog out. Was hoping to do with one device with Audio In, SDI In, and Analog Out.

Q: 5. I am looking for the DIGITAL version of the SONY ICF506 portable radio.?

A: Hi SAMUEL S, Please check the Sony SRF-V1BT and ICF-SW7600GR.Thanks,Joffrey

A: The ethernet port is for software control only. It does not pass video.

Q: 7. Is the "SDI loop out" completely clean to feed a separate down converter to 1080?

A: I’m pretty sure it is. But I think you might want to look at a Decimator MD-HX. It has scaling and dual outputs.

Q: 8. I have a Marshall CV226 3G SDI camera and a analog DVR. Will this convert it into a usable format for the DVR?

A: In a format of 59.94p, 1080p, the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter SDI to Analog will convert such a signal to an analog NTSC signal, which should then be accepted by an NTSC compatible analog DVR.

Q: 9. Is this radi 110-220 v.?

A: This unit is 120v.

Q: 10. What is the image quality like converting HD-SDI to HD Component? Are there any artifacts or a loss of resolution? I have an HD CRT that I'd like to use, but it only has analog HD inputs. Cheers!

A: HD-SDI Digital HD was a step up in image quality over Component Analog HD. So in a critical analysis, yes, you will see a slight difference. But for casual use, there is no loss in quality to the degree that it would interfere with your use or enjoyment of your CRT display. After all, it was what we had for years and were quite happy with it.
