The ND68 Dynamic Supercardioid Bass Drum Microphone from Electro-Voice is a high-performance, large-diaphragm kick drum and low-frequency instrument microphone. It can be used to capture deep low-end audio and deliver a

relaxed midrange, as well as high-frequency content in studio, live sound, and rehearsal applications.

The microphone offers excellent isolation from other nearby instruments and has a 20 Hz to 11 kHz frequency response. The ND68 capsule contains a large Mylar diaphragm, which delivers a detailed frequency response by combining a large surface area for tonal balance with its low-mass material. It is capable of handling 144 dB SPL and is comfortable managing close applications of high sound sources.

In addition, the capsule uses a humbucking coil that attenuates AC hum and electromagnetic interference. The Memraflex grille is made of a durable tight-mesh grille wire that withstands rough treatment. A gig bag, a stand clip, and a euro thread adapter are also included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a back light on the display? Is it readable in dark environments?

A: The display would have a back light. Unfortunately there isn't a indicator for screen brightness.

Q: 2. I have the I CBUX 570 voice recorder I didn’t know if it’s voice activated, and if it is voice activated how do I turn that on on my voice recorder thank you very much Richard

A: The Sony ICD-UX570 Digital Voice Recorder (Black) has a VOR mode which automatically starts recording when a sound is within the set volume. You can turn that on in the menu under VOR.

Q: 3. Do I need to buy memory for this or is it built in? I need about 10 hours of recording. Thank you for your time Michele

A: No, it has 4 GB built in memory which records to a minimum of 39 hours 45 minutes

Q: 4. Is the Godox LMS-12A AXL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone compatible with the Sony PX370 recorder?

A: The Sony ICD-PX370 Digital Voice Recorder with USB BH #SOICDPX370 is not compatible with the Godox LMS-12A AXL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm TRS Connector B&H # GOLMS12AAXL.

Q: 5. can you convert the audio file to a text file? PDF?

A: Possibly. This would require third-party speech to text software: Dragon Speech Recognition from Nuance.

Q: 6. How does it sound when you use the 3.5mm jack to record with a cavalier microphone?

A: You can connect a clip on mic to the 3.5mm jack, for more isolated dialog. You would get less background sound with a lavalier microphone.

Q: 7. Does this product have a backlight? And if so, what color is the backlight?

A: There is no backlight on this unit.

Q: 8. can I record my song whether with live band or doing self karaoke. will the sound quality be good?

A: It would work, but unit is designed for conversation, not music. Frequency range isn't wide enough for quality music recording. Also, dynamic range is limited.

Q: 9. I've read that 'dynamic' mics work best when the sound source (voice or instrument) is close to the mic -- say six-eigth inches for example; but their sound pickup range falls off quickly as you move much further away from the mic (which has the advantage of reducing background noise). Is this true for this mic?

A: That is true for dynamic mics in general. Some dynamic mics are more sensitive than others. This one in particular requires the source of sound to be just a few inches away. Probably closer to around 3-4 inches or so. The polar pattern also will determine how far off axis the source of the sound can be until the sound drops out. This Samson Q2U is a cardioid pickup pattern which is about 120 degrees around.

Q: 10. Are the Polsen headphones included in the complete pack any good?

A: They will sound clean and are a very good option for that price point with the kit
