Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between the Glidecam XR-Pro and the Glidecam HD-Pro?

A: The biggest difference is that the XR had four individual screws (two for horizontal and two for vertical movement) that are used to adjust the head but the HD has a gear system that makes balance 100x easier

Q: 2. How well will this balance with a C100 Mii?

A: It will balance perfectly. Just be patient for balancing is the single most frustrating procedure new users encounter. Glidecam has several videos on how to do this.

Q: 3. I own a Panasonic UX-90 camera and this Glidcam popped up in the accessories. I am a newbie when it comes to owning a stabilizer/gimbal. Is this a good place to start or would recommend another model? Thanks for you time!

A: The Glidecam XR-PRO Handheld Camera Stabilizer would be a good stabilizer for your camera. It is fully manual so a lot of the effectiveness of the stabilizer will come with practice but it should work pretty well.

Q: 4. Are you suppose to have image stabilization in the camera turned on when using the Glidecam?

A: There is no right or wrong answer here. However, if you notice any unwanted shaking, then it may be advantages to turn on the camera's stabilization. Depending on the camera's method of stabilization, it may crop the sensor slightly. That is something to consider before deciding.

Q: 5. Will this work on a BMP4KCC?

A: It should work great with the BM. I use mine with a d-810, Sony EX, and a tiny cannon camera as well. It's very versatile.

Q: 6. Does this work with very light mirrorless cameras like the Sony a7riii with standard zoom lens?

A: Yes it will as this stabilizer has a load capacity between 0 to 10 pounds.

Q: 7. Can some tell me the difference between the xr-pro and the hd2000? Using a canon 80d 18-135mm .. thanks

A: The principal difference between the two is the payload capacity. The XR-PRO can carry 10 lbs and the HD2000 can do 2-6 lbs. Your Canon 80D with a 18-135mm lens is well within the capability of the HD2000.

Q: 8. Can I attach a monitor to the bottom? If so, how? Sorry I am new to this

A: You cannot attach a monitor to the bottom of this stabilizer. That is not how this unit is designed to operate.

Q: 9. Which quick release plate should I order with this beauty please and thanks?

A: I personally got the Manfrotto 577 quick release plate because it allows you even MORE freedom to move the camera forward and backward without having to move the entire base plate. This helps with changing from like a small pancake lens to like a big zoom. You can just push the camera farther back and farther forward depending on what you need. (And it's a lot easier than unscrewing all four of the bottom screws and moving the head forward.)

Q: 10. Can you shoot this inverted for low shots?

A: Yes, just invert post at gimbal and shoot low mode
