For the newbie: Images are sharp with it, adds to lens weight - using a tripod is suggested, and you lose a few stops of speed. 5

I own both Sony teleconverters: 1.4x and 2.0x and use them with my Sony A7RIV and Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. The 1.4x is better in low light, but the 2.0x, with a slightly slower AF, is adequate for morning and early evening bird and wildlife photography . 5

First off, I purchased the Sony 2X convertor at the same time as the Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3G OSS. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words.I photo graphed an Azalea flower with my new lens and tele convertor attached to a Sony A6500. I placed them all on a KIRK G1 Gimbal head which rested on a GITZO 500 Giant Tripod. ISO 1,250; 0EV; f14;1/160 sec.; 600mm focal length; Eqivalent Focal length1,800mm. Distance from flower to camera sensor (est.) 22-24 feet. Look at the sharpness of flower parts in the same focal plane left to right. 5

The Sony FE 2.0x Teleconverter works perfectly with my 70-200mm f/2.8 GM Lens. The teleconverter provides the extra reach that I need while maintaining excellent image quality. I look forward to creating many gorgeous photographs with this combination of lens and teleconverter! 3 5

I had purchased the Sony 1.4x converter, which is great also, but just had to try this one. It is sharp on my Sony 600 f4 and when the light is right, on my 200-600. But it really shines on the 600 f4. Gives me 1200mm and f8. What a deal! Do't prejudge the 2x if you have used other manufactures cameras and lenses with their converters. These Sony's are in a class of their own and it is the top class. 5

Brought this to take pictures of the Moon and it didn't fail to deliver. Very sharp with a Sony Telephoto lens and you don't loose too many stops. Regular use is also quite nice with good focus speeds. 5

I used Sony's 2X convertor with with Sony's 200mm-600mm FANTASTIC lens attached to Sony's A6500 on a tripod. Set @ 600mm focal length. EQIV= 1,800 focal length, F13. "AZALEA" Distance from flower to camera sensor 22 feet.(estimate) 5
