A: The suction cup is strong to hold the camera, but I don't put it outside because of the degrade with sun.

A: Is does have tilting ability, but I found this adapter to be shaken and had to modify it to make is stable. The base is spring-loaded to allow it to rotate. You pull it up and can rotate is in 90 degree increments. This spring allow the base to vibrate easily. I removed the spring and replaced it with a small metric (4mm, in thing) lock washer from Fastenal. This disables the rotation and direction of tilt, but since I use it from my GoPro, I have to use the GoPro mount which can be rotated in an direction and allows me to tilt it in any direction.In addition I lock the adapter so the built-in tilt is 90 degrees to the handle bar mount. This allows for two-axis tilting.

Q: 3. Does the mount leave the entire screen side unobstructed? If you're doing manual stuff with Filmic Pro or really anything but full auto, it would be a huge problem if those straps or whatever were in the way.

A: Aloha...I'm not sure if this will fit other cameras. I specifically bought it for the GoPro as an alternative mount to the Jaw grip GoPro sells. Wish I could be more helpful.
