Barska 10x42 Embark Waterproof Binoculars (brown)

Barska designed their 10x42 Embark Waterproof Binoculars as your go-to optic for all outdoor activities. Their 10x magnification is ideal for bird watching, hiking, and sightseeing, and the larger 42mm objectives, coupled with multi-coated optics, draw in copious amounts of light versus smaller-objective optics to produce bright and clear images with competent low-light performance. Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to cut weight without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip.
The combination of long eye relief, wide exit pupil, and twist-up eyecups ensures comfortable use by most people with or without eyewear in all light conditions. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance, so you can be confident bringing them with you anywhere you go. If you plan on long-duration observation sessions, the Embark binoculars can be mounted on support systems using an optional tripod adapter.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does it works without battery , i.e as usual binocular?
A: Regarding the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars, the visual optics will work without batteries. The IS requires batteries.
Q: 2. I am looking for a high end -high quality Bino. I am down to this model Leica 10 x 42 and the Swarovski 10 X 42 swaroVision. Can anyone help with comparison info, especially if you have used these glasses? I will use these mostly for wildlife viewing and helping me find good images for wildlife photography. Thanks for your analysis. J.L.
A: Personally I would go with the Swarovski EL 10x42 SwaroVision Binoculars. I have compared both models side by side in a low light setting, and the Swaro's are superior. There is a slight brightness difference. Also there is more glass in both barrels of the Swarovski's. Build quality wise it's a better binocular too.
Q: 3. Does this come with the Canon USA warranty?
A: The Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binocular comes with the Canon Limited 3-Year Warranty.
Q: 4. Is the front objective of the 10x42L IS threaded for an aluminum lens hood or filter? If so what diameter is it? The binoculars are obviously 42mm diameter, but the recommended accessories lists a 52mm lens hood. If the threads are 42mm does anybody make a lens hood that size? Sensei does not list a 42mm hood.
A: The accessory would indeed need to be 52 mm. the cross diameter is just over 2". And yes it is threaded....hope this helps.
Q: 5. Why did you choose this model over the LEICA Ultravid HD 10x32?
A: I am not quite sure what you mean. However I do know most people choose the 42mm Size because it is brighter, and better in low light. The 32mm are lighter weight, however not as bright.
Q: 6. I added lens hoods to protect the objectives but now the binoculars no longer fit in the case. Any recommendations for an alternative one?
A: I recommend the following: two 52 mm screw-in UV filters (I went for the B+W No. 010 MRC Master filters [a bit of "overkill," but they are excellent) and a pair of Canon 52 mm "pinch-style" lens caps (which fit securely when used with the B+W filters). I find this combination works well, looks good, and allows easy insertion of the entire assembly into the case. I have never understood the need for bulky lens hoods in this application, since the optics are very flare-resistant in the first place, and the filters protect the front surface of the objective lenses at all times. For the B+H filters see: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=B%2BH%2052mm%20UV%20Master%20filters&sts=ma For the Canon 52 mm pinch-style lens caps see: See: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/883410-REG/Canon_6315b001_E_52_II_Lens_Cap.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/883410-REG/Canon_6315b001_E_52_II_Lens_Cap.html
Q: 7. What is the warranty for a USA purchaser?
A: These binoculars carry a 3-Year Leica No-Fault Passport Warranty and Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Q: 8. Can it be used for photography?
A: It would be impractical to attach a point & shoot camera or a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera to the binoculars. There are adapters available to attache smartphones. An example would be: Carson HookUpz 2.0 Universal Optics Adapter for Smartphones ( B&H # CAIS200 ) or the Novagrade Universal Standard Digiscoping Adapter for Smartphones (B&H# NOPA020001 )
Q: 9. Is there anything like this that can also record video & has a range finder? Thanks for any leads
A: Currently, there are no similar products to the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars (BH # CA10X42L) that offer recording and a rangefinder.
Q: 10. what is the difference between ultravid hd and trinovid ?
A: The Ultravids are slightly better quality. The build construction is better too. The Ultravids are also made in Germany, and the Trinovid's are made in Portugal.
