On-stage Mbs5000 Broadcast/webcast Boom Arm With Xlr Cable
- Product Code: ga180328
-
The MBS5000 is a professional articulating mic boom that provides just the right counterbalance for popular broadcast microphones or other devices weighing up to 3.5 pounds. It can be used in studio environments and allows for quiet, easy, and repeatable positioning for on-air broadcast and webcast applications.
With square-tubing construction, the boom arm offers strength and a long service life. The preinstalled 10' XLR cable provides a neat clean look and the standard 5/8"-27 threading, which mates with common mic clips, offers plenty of room for a shockmount. Additionally, the MBS5000 comes with two mounting options: one is a removable C-clamp for desktops and the other is a screw-in flange mount for permanent desktop or overhead installations.

Q: 1. what is the origin of the product?
A: The country of origin for the PSA 1 is China.
Q: 2. Is there an alternative compatible C-CLAMP I can use with this boom arm that will clamp a 3 inch desktop?
A: Unfortunately, I don't know of any wider clamp that will be compatible with this BAI-2X arm. I would recommend using the included screws to mount permanently to the desk, rather than using the clamp.
Q: 3. Will this work with the Rode NT-USB mic? If so, do I need to use a shock mount?
A: Absolutely! I have my NTUSB on this mount.
Q: 4. Can you use this for a Blue Yeti mic? Thanks

Q: 7. What would I need to mount a mirrorless camera to this?
A: Though this is boom arm is designed for mounting a microphone, you could adapt it for a camera with a CAMVATE 5/8" Female to 1/4"-20 Male Mic Stand Adapter, BH #CAC0988. An Oben BD-02 Mini Ball Head, BH #OBBD02 woud be a good option to allow for more flexibility of movement for positioning the camera.
Q: 8. Does anyone know what the headphones included in the essentials kit?
A: The headphones included in the Rode Podcaster/Broadcaster Mic-Mounting Essentials Kit for USB Microphones are the Polsen HPC-A30-MK2 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones (B&H # POPCA30MK2). The model may be subject to change based on availability and price.
Q: 9. I love this boom arm, but does anyone know if it's possible to get a longer bolt where the mic mounts so I can use a mic flag with it?
A: Here's a 5/8'' female to male extension tube from Shure BH #SHA26X. The Rode PSA1 should have included the required 3/8'' female to 5/8'' male adapter you would need to make this work.
Q: 10. will it work with a beacn cardiod usb-c mic?
A: The RODE PSA1 Studio Boom Arm will work with any microphone or microphone mount that uses a standard 5/8 thread. In other words, it will work with anything that works with a regular microphone stand.
