Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this support Windows 10?

A: Yes, it's just a UPS (nothing to do with OS's), you can use it with or without management software.

Q: 2. Can you control the outlets (turn them on and off) through this expansion card?

A: The CyberPower RC UPS Cloud Monitoring Card cannot be used to enable or disable individual outlets on your UPS.

Q: 3. does this support remote monitoring/email alerts?

A: Hello David, Yes this unit will support remote monitoring/email alerts with the addition of the optional RMCARD205.

Q: 4. This unit is rated at 1000W. Is this based on plugging devices into all receptacles or just the battery and the surge receptacles?

A: That unit is capable of a 1000w peak draw.

Q: 5. Does this have the two front usb charge ports (type-c and type-a) 3.1A?

A: No, unfortunately this item would not contain any front facing USB type-c, and type-a ports.

Q: 6. If my PC has a 1200 watt Power supply will this be strong enough at 900 watts? Is this a pass through design?

A: The 900 watt rating is how many watts it will deliver when on battery. It's rated at 1500 watts pass-through when on line power. Even though your computer has a 1200 watt power supply, it more than likely never pulls that much. Most modern computers only draw 100-200 watts when idle or doing light tasks like email/web browsing. If you have 2-3 high-end power hungry video cards, are doing rendering or video processing, with a pile of hard drives, you could start getting up to the 900 watt limit. Buy a kill-a-watt and measure for sure. Also note that at 100% utilization on battery (drawing 900 watts) the run time is very short; maybe a minute or two. My workstation has an 850 watt power supply, a single GeForce 960 video card, i7-6700k, 16gb ram, 4 hdds and an ssd. With the router, a switch, and 2 monitors, I draw 350 watts when playing games & working on video encoding. I get approx. 15 minutes runtime. Idle it uses 75-100 watts, and a 30 min run time.

Q: 7. Can I plug in a power conditioner to this (Furman SS-6B Power Strip) or would that be redundant, or cause a problem? I’m in residential with power issues that are causing odd hums in audio recordings, and the electrician says a UPC is the way to go, but the studio engineer says a power conditioner is necessary.

A: I'm an electrician and concur with the other answers, you need to look into grounding issues, specifically what's called a "ground loop". As for the UPS, it won't fix this issue, it fixes voltage and power factor issues as well as backup power of course, but it won't hurt anything either. They do make "ground loop isolators" that may do the trick, but sometimes won't help either.

Q: 8. What is the run time at 50% load?

A: Run time at half load is about 9 minutes.

Q: 9. What is the screen size?

A: The beamsplitter ratio is 70/30. It will be about 15".

Q: 10. Can this teleprompter set up be used with Obsbot tiny 2 webcam?

A: You could use it in theory, though you'd likely have to turn off auto-tracking on the Tiny 2. This teleprompter is built for static cameras, so the Tiny 2 would capture the edges of the teleprompter mirror enclosure if it were to pan or tilt.

Within days of hooking up my NAS I suffered a short series of power outtages followed by a 12-hour outtage. The NAS (and other connected electronics) didn't notice the short outtages and the unit provided ample time to shut down gracefully during the long outtage.

Hate to think what spikes and transients might have made it through if not for this unit, especially during the initial set of on/off power.

So, yeah, did its job well and I'm happier with less worry. :-)

I bought three units to use on DVRs. Work well to preserve programming. Highly recommended.

First, unlike some other UPSes this one didn't require I open the case and connect a battery. This one was connected already and the instructions indicated as much. Plugged it in and let it charge. Moved a PC over to it and loaded the PowerPanel software to see what it might tell me. It shows the load the PC was pulling from the UPS in pretty good details - enough that I was surprised it was about half what I expected it would be. I haven't had any outages to see how it performs but PowerPanel gives me an estimate based on the PC's load.

I'm not using the interface that came with the product, but I do like the spacing between outlets on the back of the unit. It allows me to connect all my bulky adapters necessary.

This is an excellent UPs, just in the fact that it is efficient and cool running. Battery UPs in the 1000VA range usually run a lot warmer. Efficiency is the key and the sinewave power supply is a clean signal for all your custom electronic equipment.

We are using this until to keep a handful of networking equipment powered up and operational during small outages & surges. It has proven very beneficial to have and has probably saved us replacing some equipment from some bad storms recently where we did lose other equipment not plugged into one of these.

I replaced an APC Back-Up 600 with this CyberPower 1000. I build my own PCs and recently did a major upgrade. The APC unit was over 5 years old and showing signs of needing batteries. It was also intolerant of the new 850 watt Corsair power supply. My new PC would quit and reboot every time there was a power glitch. I needed a new UPS unit that suppiled pure sine-wave power. The APC unit only delivered square wave simulated AC power. The only negative is that the utility softare is not as smart as the APC product. You can't tell it when (while you are sleeping) not to sound the alarm.
