Q: 1. I'm tempted on purchasing this system. However, seeing reviews about audio dropouts is concerning. Has the issue been fixed or has Sony acknowledged the issue and working on a fix?

Q: 2. How would you connect this to a home theatre projector? Does this need an a_v receiver?

A: The Sony HT-A9 4.0.4-Channel Wireless Home Theater System (BH # SOHTA9) is designed to connect directly to a television or projector equipped with HDMI eARC or ARC ports. An AV surround-sound, multi-channel, home theater receiver is not required or recommended.

Q: 3. Can I buy another cordless handheld microphone ??

A: no

Q: 4. This may be a stupid question, in the first photo it shows all four speakers in the system and above that it looks like a soundbar. Does the sound bar come with the home theater system? Or do my eyes this deceive me?

A: Hello Kris, Thank you so much for your question. The HT-A9 360 Spatial Sound Mapping Dolby Atmos®/DTS: X® Home Theater System does not come with a soundbar. Here are the items that are included in the box: Control box (1) AC adaptor (1) Remote control (1) / R03 (size AAA) battery (2) Front left speaker (1) Front right speaker (1) Rear left speaker (1) Rear right speaker (1) AC power cord (mains lead) for speakers (4) HDMI cable (1) - Supports the transmission of 4K/8K content. Q: 5. Can I connect my iPad to the system?

A: Yes

Q: 6. What specific stands can you recommend for these speakers?

A: Hi Anthony, thank you for your inquiry. Any general speaker stands that support the following dimensions and weight will work with our HT-A9. It does have mounting holes at the back, but there are no bottom mounting holes. Dimensions (approx.) (w/h/d): 150 mm × 52 mm × 150 mm (6 in × 2 1/8 in × 6 in) Mass (approx.): 730 g (1 lb 10 oz) We also recommend visiting your local retailer to find a speaker stand that meets the size of these speakers and your stylistic preferences. Hope this helps! Regards, Sam

Q: 7. Does each speaker need to be plugged into a wall outlet?

A: Yes, for the Sony HT-A9 4.0.4-Channel Wireless Home Theater System each speaker would need power and plugged in.

Q: 8. Does the HT-A9 support Atmos via MAT signal? As the AppleTV 4k and Xbox Series X can only output Atmos via MAT (uncompressed LPCM) as opposed to bitstream dolby digital atmos/truehd.

A: Dolby Atmos is supported by Apple TV 4K, Xbox Series X and the Sony HT-A9. In light of this, Dolby Atmos would work across these devices connected to each other seamlessly.

Q: 9. Do the speakers come in black and can you attach a second subwoofer?

A: The satellite speakers do not come in black. Unfortunately there is no output port available for a 2nd subwoofer.

Q: 10. The system frequency response is only up to 10kHz? How is that "Hi-Rez" music?

A: But the FTC power for other receiver/amplifier is rated using 20-20kHz frequency range. The fact that this set of speakers only gives up to 10kHz for power rating is very concerning. I hope Sony could clarify this.
