Long-reaching telephoto zoom is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 152-609mm equivalent focal length range.

Five extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

A five stop-effective optical image stabilization system Minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds.

Twin linear motors deliver quick, quiet, and smooth autofocus performance that is especially beneficial when working with fast-moving subjects.

A focus limiter switch on the side of the lens barrel lets you constrain the focusing range to either the full range of 5.7' to infinity, or from 16.4' to infinity for faster focusing performance with distant subjects.

The lens body incorporates 13 distinct weather seals in 12 locations to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F. Additionally, a fluorine coating has been applied to the front lens element to guard against smudging, moisture, and dust.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contribute to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Zoom-lock switch prevents unwanted zoom creep from occurring and also can be used to maintain the same zoom position while shooting.

A removable, rotating tripod collar allows for well-balanced mounting and shooting when working from a tripod or monopod.

The included lens hood incorporates a sliding window to allow easier adjustment of rotating filters, such as a polarizer, while the hood is installed.

Compatible with optional XF 1.4x TC WR and XF 2x TC WR teleconverters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use the OIS on the 100-400 MM lens and Fuji XT4 at the same time

A: Yes you can.

Q: 2. how would this lens on a Fuji X-T1 compare to a Tamron 150-600 G1 on a Canon 6D. Which would have the better image quality? RegardsKelvin

A: It would be the Fuji lens, IMHO. I had the Tamron lens for awhile, using it on a 7DMkII and I found the images soft. If you want the reach with the 6D, try the Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 II with a 1.4x tc.

Q: 3. Does the Fujifilm T2 autofocus with the 2X teleconverter and the 100-400mm lens?

A: I have the 1.4x converter and use it with the 100-400mm lens. Yes, autofocus works just like the original lens with no converter. But with revised specs for focal length and aperture. I notice a very slight deterioration clarity for the 1.4x which is still acceptable. You might consider the 1.4x over the 2.0x depending on your telephoto needs. Combined with the 1.5x lens adjustment factor on the X-T2 that already gives pretty good reach.

Q: 4. Can this lens be hand held w/the Fujifilm Xt-5?

A: The lens does have stabilization and the xt5 has stabilization as well. The lens alone weighs 3lbs. That said if using a fast shutter and bracing you should be able to get great results even hand holding yes.

Q: 5. what's the 35mm equivalent of this lens with the 1.4X and 2.0X TC? Thank you

A: It would be the equivalent of 212-852mm and 304-1218mm.

Q: 6. Lenses only?

A: Don't understand the question!

Q: 7. Is it possible to buy a larger tripod mount/handle?Because this one is a bit too small.

A: No.

Q: 8. Fujixt2 remote shutter release

A: Please clarify..asking about lens or camera operation?

Q: 9. Any recommendations for a case with a shoulder strap, to hold only this lens?

A: I would recommend the Ruggard lens case. Please click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2vJvinI

Q: 10. Is lens be well balanced with an XT-4 camera? Can you achieve hand-held shots with the XT-4 or is a tripod needed/better?

A: The FUJIFILM XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR Lens is about 3.03 lbs. while the Fugifilm X-t4 is about 1.16 lbs. so they aren't balanced in that regard. In terms of of whether or not you need a tripod is completely dependent on your capability but overall, you do not necessarily need a tripod and it can be used 100% handheld.

This is 100-400mm lens is amazing! The image quality is stellar. The image stabilization is great. I use it for sports and wildlife. I also use it in landscape shots where I want a lot of compression. I've really enjoyed the reach and image quality that this lens provides.

main critic about this one of the best price-performans/compact/light weight lens is the focus speed. when you consider the importants of fast focusing for a super tele lens , it can be criticized but still we can say focus speed is accepptable.
This lens is definetly not only for catching birds and planes. Supporting performans comes with not XF 2 tele converter but XF 1.4 Teleconverter.

I've been heavily using this lens for the past month and I like it. I'm using it with my XT-3 and without a tripod and have found it to focus fairly fast and deliver sharp images. I have several Fuji lenses (16mm, 23mm, 56mm, 80mm, and 18-135 zoom) and love them all. I held off buying this one, but it turns out that it's my favorite. I've been using it for nature photography (birds, deer, insects, flowers, etc.) and so far it has delivered and I have no regrets buying it. It's a fun lens!

I ordered it because the price was right and the polarizing filter was a bonus. Waited about a week before putting it on my camera for a grandsons baseball game. I am very impressed with the performance of this lens. Will be going to Colorado later this month to capture some wildlife photos. The sharpness and the color produced are amazing. This lens is beyond my expectations.

I have two trips coming up in the next three months. Both have opportunities to photography wildlife animals. Considering my 55-200 mm XF lens may not be enough, I decided to order this 100-400 mm with a 1.4x extension lens. They arrived on time. I have been practicing using the lens. I am very satisfied with its ability to capture details and the sharpness of the focus is supper. It is still hard to hand hold it and shoot without the tripod.

I am an industrial and Architectural photographer who shoots mostly super wide lenses. When wife and I were going to visit family in Oregon and Washington state, I decided I needed a long telephoto lens. when Fuji announced this new lens I knew I had to have it. I have many X lenses, but my favorites being my 10-24, and 90mm. this was an expensive and heavy lens, but wanted the long reach not only to bring distant objects closer, but mostly to be able to capture the compression look a long telephoto lens can do.
I was afraid this lens would not be able to give me the image quality I was used to with my 10-24 and 90. But after working with this lens I was totally impressed, and will not travel anywhere without it.
