Q: 1. What is the maximum transfer speed on this device? I know that it's usb 3.0 port has a maximum transfer speed of 525MB/s, but that's the port, so I was wondering if the hardware itself had transfer speed limitations (for example some external hard drives with 3.0 have transfer speeds up to 400MB/s due to its hardware).

A: I use it with the Firewire 800 port and WD drives. Works great for me.

Q: 2. I am requiring adapters for my Panasonic DVC Pro HD P2 mini-dvd camera to my 21.5 inch iMac which has lightening ports. My Wirefire cable is marked 1394 (which should be a 400. I've purchased a Thunderbolt 2 adapter what more do you reccomend to make the connection?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend daisy chaining through multiple adapters and generations of cabling. We are unable to guarantee it would work.

Q: 3. Is this cable bi-lingual? It is for hooking up a Presonus 24.4.2 to an older Mac, so this is essential

A: Yes, the StarTech 6' IEEE-1394 FireWire Cable is a bilingual cable.

Q: 4. Can this device support two RAID 1 arrays, each being used on a different operating system(Mac & Win)

A: I use mine as JBOD. Has worked great for around a year so far. Very quiet. I use Mac.

Q: 5. In JBOD mode, are the drives hot-swappable? Can I eject one drive without ejecting or disturbing the others?

A: Yes in JBOD mode you can eject and replace a drive without disturbing the other drives.

Q: 6. what elctrical current?

A: As mentioned the UltraLite ships with a DC power supply that provides 15V at 1A.Dave

Q: 7. If this is setup as JBOD, would my computer see it as two separate drives? I have two 4tb Seagate hard drives and would like to use them as individual drives (no raid).

A: Yes, your computer will see the two drives separately. This will work if you are using USB to connect the enclosure to your computer, but if you're using eSATA you'll need to make sure that your computer's eSATA port (and BIOS) is port-multiplier capable.

Q: 8. can I use the 32 bit motu traveler with my 64 bit macOS?

A: Yes, the MOTU Traveler-mk3 FireWire Audio Interface can be used with a 64-bit macOS system. In this scenario, the 32-bit float point recording capabilities of the Traveler are a separate specification to the Mac's 64-bit application processes. The MOTU Traveler-mk3 has the following system requirements for macOS: -G4/500Mhz Power Mac or faster equipped with at least one FireWire port -At least 256 MB of RAM (512 MB or more is recommended) -Mac OS X (version 10.4.9 or later) -A large hard drive (preferably at least 100 GB)

Q: 9. is it compatible with an Android device, especially a Motorola cell phone?

A: The MUYHSMFF is used to connect a headset that uses a separate headphone and microphone 3.5mm 3-position connection. Furthermore, the MUYHSMFF requires that the host utilizes a 3.5 mm Mini-Jack (4 position) as per CTIA standard. As long as the connecting devices utilizes these connections, the MUYHSMFF will work. Q: 10. Hi. I have 5 pieces WD Green 6Tb from the old DAS. What will happen if I install them in the Oyen Digital Mobius 5-Bay? It just won't start or what? These disks are not enterprise class.

A: None of the drives in my box are enterprise class and the largest individual drive is 2Tb. Running it as JBOD. Drives that were iffy in the G5 are still iffy in the Mobius. The biggest challenge in my setup is keeping the eSATA ExpressCard/34 in the slot. Not sure if thatll help you out but just give it a try.
