Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How much does this weigh?

A: Since we only just listed this product on our website for Pre-Order we do not have a lot of details on it yet, including its weight. Please keep an eye on this page, as more information becomes available it will be updated here. I can tell you that the typical VCT Plate weighs between 1.5 to 2 pounds, so you can expect it to be in that range.

Q: 2. I'm getting a lot of cracking / creaking noise when tightening the knob. Is this normal?

A: You need to re-lube the tightening mechanism with a small amount of grease.

Q: 3. Will Really Right Stuff Lens Foot Plates work on the WH-200 Gimbal tripod head? i have a Nikon 200-400 and a 70-200 that already have RRS feet on themThanks Bill

A: Yes, both systems use the Arca-type plates so you would be able to use the RRS Plates with this Wimberly Gimbal together.

Q: 4. The Super Clamp 35RL says it will take a hexagonal stud to prevent twisting, but this arm looks to have only round ends - and they don't look replacable with hex studs. Is that the case? Is it only friction that keeps the arm from spinning in the clamp?

A: You can add a hex stud via the 3/8" screw on one end of the arm. That would be the Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8" & 1/4"-20 Threads (Brass), BH # MA037 https://bhpho.to/2XmMg8V

Q: 5. Weight capacity. How heavy of a camera is this arm rated to hold?

A: Not sure what the official specs are but we support a Thermography camera and motorized pan/tilt mechanism from it. The combination weighs about 5 pounds. The closer the arm is to the wall the stronger it will be, and of course the more horizontal extension used it won't support as much. The lock knob can be cranked down pretty tight, and the arm and wall plate are very solid (typical for Manfrotto).

Q: 6. Just out or curiosity. Are the company name and serial number printed on the arm or is it a sticker?

A: The name is painted on.

Q: 7. How do you attach the magic arm to the Manfrotto tripod?

A: Depending on how much weight you need to hold, each stud has a tap. One is 3/8 and the other is 1/4 -20. All tripods have either a 3/8' orr 1/4 screw.

Q: 8. Is this l-bracket suitable to use with for a Fuji XT4?

A: Yes it fits the Fuji XT4 with battery grip and also an arca compatible plate must be connected to the grip.

Q: 9. I intend to use this product with my RRS BH-55 Ball Head with Lever-Release Clamp. Are these two compatible with each other? As opposed to the screw knob model, the clamp model is not adjustable. I am worried that the clamp will not close all the way if it’s too tight or it may be a loose fit. Thanks in advance.

A: Unfortunately, we cannot confirm if the Kirk QRLB-T Universal Quick Release Tall L-Bracket would be compatible for use with the Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head with Full-Size Lever-Release Clamp. According to Really Right Stuff's website, only Really Right Stuff and Wimberley plates and rails are guaranteed to work with Really Right Stuff lever-release clamps. Kirk Arca-type plates would be compatible for use with the Really Right Stuff screw-type clamps, but they do not indicate compatibility with the lever-type clamps.

Q: 10. Hi, Could you please tell me what makes this gimbal so expensive over others? Like material, ease of use or anything to justify the price. Thanks.

A: I bought other brands and different styles of heads for my wildlife photography, they were all just a waste of money. The quality, the functionality jus t didn't work well. In the end, there is only one gamble head that is dependable, Wimberley. ch
