The Electro-Voice R300-L is a cost-effective, all-metal wireless lavalier microphone system well suited for tabletop use, or as part of an AV installation, in small- to medium-sized conference centers, educational facilities, and performance spaces.

The R300-L includes the R300 antenna-diversity receiver along with the BP-300 bodypack transmitter and a ULM18 lavalier microphone. The mic's cardioid pickup pattern focuses audio capture on the speaker, picking up less background sound for clearer vocals with less feedback problems when PA systems are used. The receiver has a 150' operating range and features 32 pre-progammed frequencies to scan for optimal transmission, along with removable antennas that allow the user to rackmount the unit (with rackmount kit and antenna cables—available separately).

The ClearScan feature on the R300 automatically searches for the ideal operating frequency, while the EZ Sync button locks the transmitter to the correct channel via infrared. The system's antenna-diversity technology helps to reduce noise and interference by comparing the incoming signals on the two antennas and using the stronger one. The receiver features both 1/4" phone and XLR outputs on the rear, and a power supply is included. The HT300 transmitter operates for up to 14 hours on a pair of AA alkaline batteries.

Q: 1. If I'll buy 2 receivers and 2 transmitters, what else I would need to connect it to my DSLR camera? I need to connect 2 people at the same time and I'm intending to use it together with 2 of sanken cos-11d ( i have a NIKON D800 and a Nikon D850)

A: Hi Vasile - to use two receivers on your DSLR, you'll need to split the signals so that they are routed independently to the Left & Right channels of the stereo input on your camera. This can be done using a Stereo Y-cable (e.g. Hosa Technology Stereo 3.5mm Male TRS to Two 3.5mm Female TS Y-Cable (6")). Once captured, you'll need to split the signals in post from a stereo feed into to mono channels (Channel 1 = Left, Channel 2 = Right). Alternately, it may be worthwhile to look into a portable audio recorder as the preamp will be quite an improvement over the mic input on the camera - you can send your signal from the EW Receivers into a camera mounted recorder and use a stereo output to the camera while having much more control over your audio and monitoring with much better quality.

Q: 2. Which Aurey Lavalier Accessory kit would go with this system (small or medium)?

A: B&H # AUWSBS6Q

Q: 3. Does it come with a case?

A: No, it does not. We offer a nice waterproof case from SKB that already has the cut outs for the transmitter and receiver, and has some room for accessories. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1288521-REG/skb_3i_0907_bh1_iseries_waterproof_sennheiser_ew.html

Q: 4. The manual says to set AF Out on the receiver to +18 dB. Is this true? Why not 0db?

A: In general, Camera preamps are not the best quality. +18db ensures that you will need the least amount of preamp gain possible, which will maximize the quality you capture with the camera.

Q: 5. Will 1.5V Lithium rechargeable batteries work in the Sennheiser EW 112P G4?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (A: 516 to 558 MHz) can be used with rechargeable lithium batteries.

Q: 6. Would this lavalier mic work in europe? italy?

A: The wireless systems that are sold by B&H are intended for use in North America without a license. The FCC regulations vary in different countries, so a license may be required. The A1: 470 to 516 MHz, A: 516 to 558 MHz, and G: 566 to 608 MHz frequency bands for the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System are all able to be used in Italy, however, a license is required. As additional options for a Sennheiser wireless system that you can use in Italy without a license, you may want to consider the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H #SEAVXME2SET4) or the Sennheiser XSW-D LAVALIER SET Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # SEWXSLSTR). The AVX system operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency band and includes a plug-in receiver which can be connected to a 3.5mm mic input using the included XLR to 3.5mm cable. The XSW-D system operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and can also be used with an XLR female to 3.5mm cable to connect to a 3.5mm mic input. Both systems include the Sennheiser ME 2 II Lavalier Microphone, which is the same microphone that is included with the EW 112P G4 system.

Q: 7. Is there some sort of adapter I can use to plug this into a laptop using USB?

A: An audio interface, such as the the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G, is a great way to get quality audio into your laptop from this wireless sytem. The Sennheiser kit comes with a CL-100 cable that will connect via XLR to the Focusrite device, which includes a USB cable to connect to the laptop.

Q: 8. How do we know which frequency range to get? Is there a list showing which frequency range is best for specific countries?

A: These Sennheiser products are offered as legal devices in the USA only. Please contact Sennheiser directly in the country you'll be using this product in to purchase the correct system. We do not ship Sennheiser wireless products overseas.

Q: 9. What frequency is best for Qatar ( Middle East )

A: According to page 49 on the follwing page from Qatar's Frequency Allocation Table, frequencies for broadcasting wireless mics are allocated to 470 - 790 Mhz. Based on this, you can use any of the 3 frequency bands that the Sennheiser G4 system has to offer without any issues. https://www.motc.gov.qa/sites/default/files/qatar_national_frequency_allocation_table_qnfat_0.pdf

Q: 10. Does the G4 system work with the Sanken COS-11D?

A: Yes it does. The Sanken mic is far better than the one that comes with the kit and it is perfectly compatible.
