The CM74 RMS Clamp Meter with VFD Mode from FLIR gives you better access to wiring in hard-to-reach places, and provide the measurement capabilities you need for advanced troubleshooting. Made with a narrow jaw and high-powered LED worklights, the CM74 makes it easier to take measurements in dark, crowded panels and cabinets.

The clamp meter supports Autoranging, True RMS Voltage and Current, LoZ, Inrush, and VFD modes. When used in VFD mode, it filters variable frequency drive signals and provides accurate voltage and frequency measurements. When used in LoZ mode, the clamp meter eliminates ghost voltage readings associated with long-run applications.

The NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) utilizes traceable reference standards to ensure accuracy.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it come with the lumidisc?

A: The lumidisc comes with the device, if you need to purchase a replacement, it would be this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/119344-REG/Sekonic_401_830.html

Q: 2. When metering in Cine mode, does this meter in T-stops?

A: No, the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter does not display in T-stops

Q: 3. Does this meter tell you light temperature as well? i.e. 3200, 5600, etc

A: No, the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter is not a color meter and does not measure the light Kelvin temperature output. If you are trying to measure color temperature, I would recommend the Sekonic C-700-U SpectroMaster Color Meter, B&H # SEC700U, the Kenko KCM-3100 Professional Color Temperature Meter, B&H # KECM3100, or the Illuminati Instrument Light and Color Meter, B&H # ILIM100, for your usage needs.

Q: 4. Does this meter have a count-down timer?

A: This meter does not have a count down timer.

Q: 5. Can this light meter be used with three lights or more?

A: You can measure each light individually and then adjust the output to coincide with your desired lighting ratio.

Q: 6. What this meter be good for someone trying to stop using auto mode and learn manual mode on their camera?

A: Possibly. It could help you understand the difference between a reflective reading (what all cameras give you) and an incident reading. (this meter can give you reflective and incident readings. And if you're planning to use studio flash it can be invaluable. But you can learn a lot just by putting your camera in manual mode, put your camera's meter in spot mode, and then just pay attention to how the camera indicates changes in exposure value (EV) when you put the spot on subjects of different brightness. Take pictures using the different readings and see how the overall picture brightness shifts.

Q: 7. Just got the Sekonic L-308X-U delivered. I am following the instructions to use Cordless Flash Mode. I press the Measure button and the Cordless Flash icon blinks. I am triggering a Profoto B10 from the white button on the back, aimed right at the Lumisphere. No change in F reading at all. I've tried all ISOs and shutter speeds. I have full batteries on everything. Is it faulty or am I missing something or is this not compatible with the Profoto B10?

A: When the Sekonic L-308X-U is in Cordless Flash metering mode, once you press the meter button and the flash symbol on the light meter begins to blink, you have 90 seconds to take your light meter reading. The ISO and the shutter speed should be set to the ISO/shutter speed you plan to use for your image. Instead of pressing the [TEST] button on the rear of the Profoto B10 strobe, you should trigger the flash normally by pressing the shutter button on your camera connected to a Profoto AirTTL remote trigger so the flash fires as the full preset output power, as the [TEST] button will not always fire the flash at full power. Make sure the Profoto B10 is set to [Manual] flash output, not [TTL] output, as the Sekonic L-308X U does not read TTL flash output. If you do the above and you are still having issues with your light meter, you may contact Sekonic directly by e-mailing them at support@sekonic.com or by calling them at 914-347-3302. If you feel your light meter is not working properly and it was purchased within the last 30 days, you may contact Customer Service to return the light meter for an exchange or a refund. But first, I would recommend trying the above, then contacting Sekonic for troubleshooting to ensure the light meter is working properly.

Q: 8. Can I get a reading from this on the flowers I shoot outside ?? J. Payne

A: Yes this meter will measure incident or reflective light outdoors.

Q: 9. does the meter also calculate contrast ratio in EV like the sekonic 478?

A: Yes it does offer this feature.

Q: 10. Can it do 1/48 shutter speed?

A: No, that Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter cannot be set to 1/48 shutter speed. It can be set to Full, ½ or 1/3rd increments. 1/48 is not any of those.
