Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the main differences between this and Ricoh WG-8?

A: The WG-8 and the G900 II are very similar as they share many of the same specs. The G900 II is a tougher built camera for harsh environments and professional use. The entire camera can be locked by a password, it is chemical resistant and it has other functions ideal for industrial and business standards. If you're looking for a tough point and shoot camera, I would suggest the Ricoh WG-8 instead.

Q: 2. Does this scanner run with a Twain Driver? I need to use it with a program like Kurzweil 1000, and they say I need to have any scanner with a Twain Driver in order for it to work.

A: Sorry, but I purchased as a gift.

Q: 3. Can the GPS be turned off or disabled to improve battery life?

A: The GPS on the Ricoh WG-6 Digital Camera (Orange) can be turned off. There is a GPS button on the back of the camera.

Q: 4. how do you connect this to a field recorder like the Zoom F8n?

A: You can use the Hi-Q battery with the Remote Audio HIQHIRV2 DC Power Cable with Hi-Q Battery Cup to Hirose for Hi-Q Batteries (B&H # REHIQHIRV2) to supply power for the Zoom F8n (updated version of the F8 mentioned in the product description -- same powering options) and similar field recorders.

Q: 5. Does this camera support 1080p60 video?

A: No, only at 720.

Q: 6. Does the scanner work for scanning photos?

A: This is not a terrible photo scanner, but it's not ideal. The max DPI for a colored scan is 600dpi which again is not terrible, but not archival quality for photos. If photos are your primary interest, there are scanners out there specializing in photos. This one is really primarily for text, with photos incidentally.

Q: 7. Is this the 2014 or the 2019 model?

A: This is the latest model from Fujitsu of the ScanSnap iX100.

Q: 8. How is the scan quality for documents, when compared to a flat bed scanner? I ask since I mainly need to scan documents and print them, and the scanned print must be very good. how do the other brands compare? (brother, epson)

A: ScanSnap hardware and software are by far the best! Scan quality can be adjusted with the software. Software is loaded with scanning, saving and editing options. Don't bother spending $ on the other scanners.

Q: 9. What is the minimum operating temperature for this camera? The manual says 0 C but the website says -10 C.

A: Minimum operating temperature would be -10 C.

Q: 10. Where does a 49mm UV filter screw into this hood/adapter?

A: The unit consists of two separate parts. The adapter that attaches around the camera lens and the hood that attaches to the adapter. The adapter has threads that can be seen the B&H product image and that is where the 49mm filters is attached.
