Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this crossbar more stronger then the Manfrotto 272B? Can I buy the Photoflex crossbar individually without the stands?

A: The overview says 40 lbs is for the stands. It does not give it for the cross bar. Comparison based on specs is only meaningful if you know both specs use the same criteria. B&H should answer this question.

Q: 2. I purchased this and it came with no assembly instructions, and their website links to instructions that are 404 Not Found. Any pointers?

A: Easiest we have found is to take legs first side by side and pull down on tripod legs to unlock. That allows spread for base. Set to width you need so height and width of tripod are same and tighten screws hand tight to lock. Build the height on each leg from bottom up then adjust height from top down and lock by tightening screws. When legs match at height you want unscrew locking screw on one end of cross bar and adjust to width you need . Twist gently to lock crossbar. Add drop and secure both ends of crossbar on legs by setting hole on top of crossbar and tightening screw to hold. To take down just remove crossbar , lower legs and collapse tripod. No need to remove screws just loosen.

Q: 3. How many pounds can the cross bar support?

A: The crossbar can support approximately 10-15lbs.

Q: 4. Is this the best possible backdrop stand for this price range?

A: I think so, based on all the research I did and my ownership of this stand. Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. I've owned less expensive stands that are fine for 5x7 backdrops, but when I need to use my 10x20 heavy duty backdrop I pull this sucker out. It is very sturdy and stable even fully extended up/across, and there is no sagging. I recently used it and the large backdrop to photograph a family of 15...no problems, no worries it would fall. Comes in a decent carrying bag as well, and unlike others of similar width, this one collapses down small enough to fit in the car (others have fixed 12' crossbars). I'm very pleased with it, it was money well spent. I don't think I'll need to purchase another backdrop stand - this will work with everything I have and could ever want to use with it!

Q: 5. Are the stands in this kit air cushioned?

A: No, these stands are not air-cushioned. Also, the tightening action of the clamps is less than desired. We've been using them, and they suit our purpose, but I wish I had spent more on a superior set of stands. Hope this info is helpful.

Q: 6. How much weight does this stand hold? Also, is the cross bar heavy duty?

A: The crossbar on this pro version is rated for 38 pounds.

Q: 7. Would these binoculars be be good for boating in open water? Thanks

A: While the stabilization system in the ZEISS 20x60 Classic S Image Stabilization Binoculars would work well on a boat, the 20x magnification is not considered a good magnification for nautical use. The 7x50 binoculars are considered best for boating and because they are only 7x magnification, a stabilizer is not needed. I would recommend this Steiner 7x50: https://bhpho.to/3otqVti

Q: 8. Can the crossbar support a 107" x 36 background paper ?

A: Yes, the cross bar in this kit can support a seamless paper roll that is 107 inches wide by 36 feet long.

Q: 9. What solar filters would you recommend for these binoculars? Thanks

A: DayStar Filters 50mm White-Light Universal Lens Solar Filter (2-Pack, 50-69mm OD) BH #DAULF502 • MFR #ULF50-2

Q: 10. how much weight will this hold along the cross bar?thx

A: The Photoflex Pro-Duty Background Support Kit can support a maximum of 40 lbs.
