The FotodioX CamDolly Cinema System with 1 x 50' Roll of Flexible SnakeTrack is a flexible camera dolly system that can be used in a variety of modes ranging from a ride-on dolly platform (with included seat) to a tabletop dolly. The aircraft-grade aluminum center hub is the mainstay of the dolly, and the included extension pieces enable building the dolly from ground up in less than 15 minutes, while mode changes typically take around a minute.

Included universal tripod holders enable you to use virtually any tripod you wish, while the included half ball adapters allow you to mount heads with either 75, 100, or 150mm balls directly to the dolly. You can use the included Mitchell plate for Mitchell heads, or mount the included European mount that allows you to mount an optional bazooka. The dolly comes complete with three different sets of wheels; pneumatic wheels for rolling on the floor, tabletop (inline skate) wheels, and track wheels for running on optional pipe, round track, or the included flexible rubber track. The included push/pull T-bar gives your grip control over the speed of your dolly move, and you can position the seat in one of many configurations. The track wheels can ride on metal track or the included SnakeTrack Flexible Rail. The pair of special compensation legs make it easy to negotiate the curves of the rubber rail, as well as smooth out any uneven rubber rail layouts. The track dolly configuration enables working with the dolly on a straight or curved track. It is compatible with virtually any track, and the included 50' of flexible rubber track provides about 20' of track run.

You can mount a set of four skate wheels (for shooting on smooth floors), or a set of four pneumatic tires for rougher terrain or carpet.

The CamDolly runs on readily available pipe with a diameter between 0.8 to 1.4". The CamDolly Cinema System includes a pair of adjustable rail ends. You can either operate the Slider at ground level, or raise the slider up on C-stands or light stands and use the included pair of supports to eliminate sagging.

Using only the Core (hub) of the CamDolly, you can use this compact mode to do tabletop dolly shots or very low-angle shots on the floor. You can also attach the push/pull bar directly to one of the wheels to steer the dolly.

You can lock the wheels to specific degrees to get a smooth, graceful, repeatable arc to create perfect 360-degree camera moves. An included chart advises you as to how to position the wheels (either 3 or 4 wheels) to create the desired arc.

Only when pointed at a bright light source will there be significant exposure error. So, for dim light and night time use only on this camera, and I recommend running a test first before committing it to a given project. You only have to shoot a few feet of it, and then use the rest of the film up in another camera it works well in. If you don't have another camera, then you might want to use manual exposure mode via the EE Lock and using a handheld light meter set for ISO 500 etc.
