Q: 1. My laptop only has usb type C, it does not have thunderbolt, this device can be used to connect it to my laptop convert the port into a thundderbolt to connect eGPU?

A: Probably not. Thunderbolt is a superset of USB-C; they use the same physical connector, but they're not exactly the same (Thunderbolt is faster, for one thing). This EZQuest hub doesn't provide Thunderbolt ports, so if your device (eGPU) requires Thunderbolt, it probably won't work plugged in to the EZQuest.

Q: 2. How long is the cord?

A: The cord is 12 inches.

Q: 3. Will this unit support an Apple SuperDrive in any of its ports?

A: Yes, you would be able to plug in the Apple Superdrive to the USB A ports.

Q: 4. Is this this device compatible with a Yamaha C2XSH silent piano?

Q: 5. what adapter do I need for my MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) serial #C02DV7YSMD6R in order to plug in my old USB cables?

A: The EZQuest 8-port USB Type-C Multimedia Hub Adapter is a good example of a dock that expands the USB type-C port of the laptop into many options such as, (3) USB type-A, HDMI, SDXC reader, RJ45, and a USB type-C port.

Q: 6. Is the cord long enough to use with a an iMac and lay flat on a desk? -I don't want it dangling in the air.

A: Not really, unless you put something under it to raise it off the table or desk.

Q: 7. Does it have warranty

A: Yes, this EZQuest Hub would have a 1 year manufacturers USA warranty.

Q: 8. Does this work with OS X 11.0.1 Big Sur?

A: Yes, it is.

Q: 9. Does any one else have a hub that gets extremely hot while plugged in? No devices are plugged into its ports.

A: If you are charging your laptop while the hub is connected it will get hot although it shouldn't be getting hot to the point where you cannot touch it.

Q: 10. what's the transfer speed?

A: I believe the ethernet is GIG. I was disappointed with the transfer speed for the SD slot. I would not recommend for transferring of large video files...........which is why I purchased the unit.............
