A: LANC controllers include products by VariZoom, Manfrotto and others. According to Blackmagic Design, The LANC protocol triggers Record Start and Stop, plus electronic lens control of the iris and focus. We are unable to test this combination but feel confident that you will be able to focus with a quality LANC controller such as the VariZoom VZ-STEALTH Zoom Controller.

A: This is a LANC controller, the camcorder will need to have a LANC connection for this to work with it. The HDR-FX1000 and HXR-MC88 both have LANC connections and will work. However the CX900 does not have a LANC Connection though, it will not work with this controller.

A: Yes it will. The Sony PMW-300K has a connection for EX style remote controls. This is compatible with that camcorder.

A: Sorry, this will not power on or off the camcorder.
